The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees, but if the potential adopter is willing to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. Another amazing sweetheart you will ever meet. Trixie was in a brutal cell in a kill shelter in CA. Beautiful Trixie the possibly scottie schnauzer love, had a previous owner & she could not look after her so she dropped her off to this extremely high kill shelter in a terrible state. She was so very matted, she stunk & was a complete mess. She had now fallen through the cracks & was posted online. How anyone could not love this face, we don’t know? We knew from the moment we seen Trixie’s picture in the shelter we had to rescue her because absolutely no one was coming to save her. Well low & behold it’s a miracle that we went on this day because by the end of the day if everyone in the shelter had not been rescued or adopted they were all going to be euthanized because they had streptococcus zooepidemicus present in the shelter. It was a very sad day for us because we knew our foster mum could only take Trixie but was so grateful to be able to get her out. Trixie was rescued & safe on this day for now. This was the first step. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Trixie how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home. Trixie was bought back to the WA state from CA where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Once Trixie was rescued she went straight to the groomer & underneath all that matted, stinking dirty fur was an extremely skinny beautiful girl. After going into her new loving foster home it was determined very quickly that Trixie was ill, & night had fallen & she was rushed to an emergency hospital where they determined as we knew she was very ill. They wanted thousands & thousands of dollars without knowing what we were dealing with. Thank goodness her amazing foster mum was able to get her into our outstanding CA vet who said he would look after her 24/7 in his care & his loving staff as it was determined after tests, blood work, x-rays etc that Trixie did have streptococcus zooepidemicus, pneumonia, influenza & kennel cough from the shelter. We were extremely frightened based upon the results as she lost 5 lbs instantly & did not have that weight to lose & our vet let us know this was truly life & death. Our girl is truly a fighter, she endured many illnesses like no other. Through each medical procedure, iv’s, blood draws & meds they said Trixie was the nicest girl. Everyone had fallen in love with our girl & was so happy when she started to turn a corner after several days in the hospital. We are so grateful to our vets for fighting for this girl & their devotion. It was time for Trixie to go home. She is not the girl you see in these pictures to the girl we got out of the shelter. It’s unbelievable how different she looks now. She was quite skinny when we first rescued her. She is beyond grateful to get out of that hell hole & is such a full of life soul. Of course she had a long road ahead of her but Trixie was doing amazing & her love for life & her body was healing. She started thriving in her foster home & her foster mums loved her so much. Trixie’s foster mum said, she loves attention & would love for it to be all about her. She is very sweet & affectionate. Trixie was flown back to WA as we did not want to risk her traveling with transport & went straight into her loving foster home. Trixie’s foster mum & dad said she loves to be loved by you picking her up & snuggling with her. She absolutely adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, we don’t know if this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. She also wants to sleep in bed with you & just to be with you. She will jump onto her fosters mums bed just to relax on during the day but is obsessed with being in the med & laying on blankets. Trixie we believe was never bathed & groomed because she gets nervous when it’s time for her baths & to be groomed so her foster family are very patient with her. Trixie loves to eat & is a wonderful eater now & she is not shy about that. In her foster home she eats clean, meaning fruits, vegetables, raw proteins, grains & supplements. She has put on so much weight in het foster home. She also loves collagen sticks & bully sticks. She is a very sweet intelligent dog her foster mum said & she taught herself to go up hardwood stairs. She has learnt that when the ice-cream comes out, it’s time for her to come running no matter what she is doing to get a teaspoon of ice-cream & eats it off the spoon. She walks well on her harness & leash but she has been learning in the rescue. Trixie rides beautifully in the car & considering the only times we know of was when she was transported from the shelter & to & from the vets in CA & in WA & when we got her & now with her foster families. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Trixie as you can imagine spent such a long time in a caged environment. Please do not say you won’t crate her & then go & crate her, that is unacceptable. We are also looking for a forever home for Trixie where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Trixie is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Trixie loves her dog friends so much & she enjoys being with them & has never met a dog she doesn’t like. She does not discriminate against breeds. We currently have her with other dogs in her loving foster home. Trixie definitely needs another dog in the home for companionship & comfort for her to thrive & her new home must have a fully fenced backyard if it’s a house if it’s a freestanding dwelling. Trixie is roughly 28 lbs, she is 20 months old & a scottish terrier schnauzer mix we think but what she is mixed with we are not sure. Female, she is spayed by laser by our vets. She is up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent over $5,000 saving Trixie’s life from getting, influenza, kennel cough & streptococcus zooepidemicus with pneumonia while in the shelter. She was hospitalized for several days, had iv fluids, iv medications, oral antibiotics, x-rays several times, blood work etc. We have spent far more on Trixie with bringing her to WA with her travel costs from CA, her medical care in WA & CA trying to save her life etc than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Trixie has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had her around children so we do not recommend cats nor children but it’s always up to the adopters to responsible with their children, cats & dogs. We were not there when Trixie was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Trixie’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Trixie potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Trixie & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Trixie who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Trixie has an adoption fee of $1585 & does not even come close to what we have spent on rescuing her & medically. She is now ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
