Story
PWRESCUE.ORG *PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY*  Meet Brody, the spirited 1-1/2 year old Scottish Terrier blend! Weighing in at a playful 14 pounds, he’s full of energy and personality. After being lost and waiting for his owners to reclaim him at a local shelter, Brody is ready for his forever home. This sweet boy loves his daily walks and would thrive in a yard where he can run and explore. With his inquisitive nature, he’s always curious about his surroundings and wants to be part of the action. Once playtime winds down, Brody is more than happy to cuddle up and watch TV with you—he's got a taste for a variety of shows! While he enjoys the company of people, Brody can be a bit selective with his doggy pals. If you have another dog, a careful introduction is a must. He’d also do well as the only pet, as long as his new owner can keep him entertained and active. Since Brody was found as a stray, we’re unsure of his history with children. Therefore, it’s best if any kids in the home are older, respectful, and have some experience with dogs.  Because of his terrier breed and prey drive, he would most likely not do well with cats. If you're looking for a playful companion who’s ready to fill your life with joy, Brody is your guy!  He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $350.00. Story
Pierre is a 7-8 year old, Cairn Terrier mix well mannered dog who has endured months of medical surgeries to fix his jaw.  Pierre came into rescue via the Arizona Humane Society where he was picked up as a stray.  When Pierre came into Help A Dog Smile Rescue he had a broken jaw and lacerated tongue.  He spent 6 months at our Vet partner’s hospital undergoing several complicated procedures to try and fix his broken jaw.  During that entire time Pierre was also weaning an e-collar (cone) Finally, after 6 months Pierre was allowed to go to his foster home.   He still had all kinds of wires in his mouth, and it was not certain if his broken jaw would ever heal, but it did!  After 8 months all of Pierres wires have been removed as has his cone. Throughout his ordeal Pierre showed his sweet personality.  The vets love him!  Pierre loves his morning walks without a cone!  Now that Pierre has recovered he only has one thing on his wish list.  A forever home! Pierre gets along with other small dogs and all adults.   Pierre is an excellent companion dog who will happily go for a walk and then keep you company the rest of the day. If you are looking for a companion and have a calm household Pierre is waiting for you.  After months in a hospital we have promosied Pierre we would find him a forever home with a secure yard so he can explore, walk and sit in the sun. Pierre's ideal home will have someone who is home most of the time or have another small companion dog for Pierre. Pierre is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee of $350 helps offset medical fees. If you live in the Phoenix metro area, have another dog, and think Pierre could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption  https://helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ *. * Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  December 11, 2024, 1:09 pm
