Hi, my name is King and I have a lot of personality packed into my little 15 pound body. I'm sure you've heard of a Velcro dog, but my foster mom calls me a super Velcro dog. I have low to medium energy, like I'll totally go for a 2 mile walk with you, take a quick nap, drink a ton of water and then I'm ready to go again or I can stay at home all day with a couple of short outside breaks and I'm still good. While I'm ok at entertaining myself, I still need to be able to see my person at all times and will come over and ask for attention, but my favorite thing to do is to lay on the couch and snooze while being petted; I looooove cuddling while getting my ears rubbed. My foster mom says I'm affection motivated, but I know the command sit when a treat is involved. I'm great on car rides and love to have the window down for all the smells, but I will also curl up and snooze on longer rides. She says I'm also a good jumper at getting in and out of the car, but we are still working on waiting to be invited to exit the car instead of jumping out once the door is open. I'm mostly house broken, but I still mark and have the occasional accident, so I'll need some help with that. My foster mom has been helping to break this habit using a spray bottle and let's just say I've gotten better very quickly. She says my temperament is great, I don't resource guard treats, food, water or toys. I'm also cat friendly and will share my dinner with my cat friend. I'm good with small kids, as long as they don't try to pick me up. When that happened, I panicked a bit, but I did not snap or bite, instead I jumped out of the girl's arms, cried, and ran back to my foster mom for protection. I do have some quirks, such as following my nose into trouble; like eating the cat's food or picking up food from the ground when I go on walks. I'm also good at finding (and eating if you don't catch me) tissues. Any time I find anything good (including the can of cat food) I bring it back to my crate or bed. I also love to fall asleep with my legs in the air and sometimes run in my sleep. My foster mom says I sometimes snore louder than a 6 foot man with sleep apnea, but hey, that's just me. I do have some areas of improvement: my next family will have to help me work on my extreme separation anxiety. I am not a dog that can be left alone for more than 2 hours. My foster mom crates me when she leaves and I freak out, so much that I have broken out of my crate a couple times. Mom has also tried leaving me uncrated in the downstairs and I still freak out. Because of this I'm hoping my next family is household where I can follow or be with them all the time.

TEXAS Adoption Only Hello Everyone, My name is Bramble I am a 4 year old 17 pound mini poodle terrier mix. Hold your Horses though. I know that usually that means you have found the perfect size cuddle boy and lap baby. This is not me. I will not be sitting in your lap anytime soon. My foster mom is working very hard to let me know all the humans aren't terrible but I am slow to believe her. I have been here 8 months and I like treats from her and a random gentle head pat I've given mom permission to look at me & sweet talk me, but she'd better not try to pick me up. I no longer run away if we are in the same space and she is so excited for my progress. I just need to exist in your house until I'm fully comfortable and that is going to take a lot of time hot dogs and cheese and work on your part. Does your current dog need a friend? I love to play with other dogs and in fact I require a home with another dog who also like to play. I'm a totally different boy with my fur friends. Foster mum has cats and dogs so I do great with both. I also need a fully secured back yard with a privacy fence. Sorry no Chain link for me. If I get out you will not get me back. I know I'm looking for a unicorn and I'm hopeful that my unicorns are out there and will love me for who I am. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

This precious floofy boy is George Washington! He is an adorable 15 pound, 11 year old, Poodle mix with a low key attitude about life. He firmly believes that being near his people, chilling on the couch, and taking a nap, are the keys to happiness. We couldn't agree more, little guy! George does well with other low key dogs. He can be a little intimidated at first by stronger personalities but he has assimilated well into his foster home's pack. He greets strangers with friendly tail wags, though he can get overwhelmed with multiple new people at once. He's doing great with potty training and has been a very polite house guest, settling well in his pen or crate and coming when he's called! George is so grateful for a comfy place to nap. His tail is always wagging and he has an adorable head tilt when his humans talk to him. He is looking for a quieter home where he can be spoiled with all the attention and love! He will be your sweetest shadow and best buddy if you open your home to him, so please consider applying to meet little George Washington! Adoption fee: $350
