Story
SophieAnn Grace is a 4 year old poodle mix that weighs approximately 13 pounds. She was found as a stray on the streets super scared of humans and very timid. After a good bath, haircut, and a warm bed, SophieAnn started to realize that humans are actually not that bad! It has taken her at least 6 months, but SophieAnn will now come up and sit on the couch with you, but still at an arms distance away. She is still unsure about being loved on and petted by humans. Occasionally, she will allow you to get her on a leash and that is when she will become shy and allow you to gently pet her. However, she still is learning what it means to walk on a leash as well as trust and not run away from human contact. SophieAnn Grace would do best in a single adult household as she does tend to resource guard her person. Additionally, she needs another dog in the house to play with and teach her how to be a dog as well as show her that human love is okay. She is currently following and bonding with her fellow foster siblings and learning their daily routines. She enjoys running around outside on grass but currently does not play with toys. She does enjoy curling up in her many calming cuddle beds around the house and at the foot of her foster's bed at night. SophieAnn Grace is very food motivated and loves raw carrots and peanut butter! She is doing well with potty training, but as with any rescue dog, there can be occasional accidents in the house. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and is heart worm negative. SophieAnn can't wait to find her furever family that is willing to slowly work with her and show her that humans are the best fur-parents ever! UPDATE!!! It has taken over 6 months, but recently, SophieAnn has started jumping on the bed at night and will lay at your feet or by your legs. She has started to jump up on the couch and will allow one of her foster parents to pet her without being scared and trying to run or bite. SophieAnn needs someone who will be patient with her and allow her to adjust in her own time to human contact and love. She is amazing with other dogs but just still very timid about humans, especially those she does not know well. Adoption fee is: waived to the right family ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Hello there, I'm Princess. I am a 11 year old, nineteen pound Miniature Poodle being fostered in the Houston area. Don't let my age fool you, I've still got plenty of pep in my step. I'm the sweetest gal you'll ever meet, always ready with a friendly wag of my tail. My favorite thing in the world is cuddling up next to someone who loves me. I'm loyal to a fault, always sticking by my person's side. And I'm no fool, I can figure out puzzles in no time. Oh, and I get along with other dogs just fine. I've been told I'm the total package. I may be in my golden years, but I have so much love left to give. If you're looking for a faithful friend, a cuddle buddy, and a smart companion, then I'm your girl. Adopt me and let's make some beautiful memories together. Princess is being treated for heartworms. This is a treatable disease and treatment is covered by the rescue. She is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped and just had a dental. Meet Curly! Curly is an adorable four-year-old poodle with a stunning curly coat that makes him as charming as he is playful. Weighing in at a healthy 60 pounds, Curly is hypoallergenic, making him a great companion for those with allergies. His upbeat personality shines through as he runs around outside, soaking up the sun and burning off energy while enjoying the great outdoors. Curly is currently working on his leash training; he’s eager to learn but could use a little extra help to master this skill. However he is house trained. He thrives in an adult-only home where he can be the center of attention, as he prefers to be the only pet in the household. Curly can exhibit some resource guarding behavior over his toys and food, so he would do best in a home where he can receive proper training and support. This playful boy loves nothing more than to receive love from his humans, and he will reward you with endless affection in return. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s ready to run, play, and cuddle, Curly is the perfect match! Are you ready to give Curly the loving forever home he deserves? Story
Meet Gray, a handsome 3-year-old, 26-pound Poodle who is ready to find a loving, understanding home. Gray came to us as a stray and has shown himself to be a wonderful companion for those who respect his boundaries and let him adjust at his own pace. He's leash trained, house-trained, and, as a hypoallergenic breed, he makes a great match for families with allergies. Gray can be wary of new people, and his initial fearfulness may lead to some protective behaviors. He would thrive best in an adult-only home where his boundaries are respected. Though he's not comfortable with other dogs, once he feels safe with his humans, he's a sweet guy who loves spending time outdoors and enjoys relaxing with his toys. Gray needs a patient family that understands his need for time and space to feel comfortable. If you're looking for a loyal, low-maintenance companion and are ready to give Gray the understanding he deserves, he could be your perfect match. Adoption fee is: $400 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Story
Hi, my name is Underdog, affectionately named by the manager of the trailer park where I was abandoned in San Antonio. I had an owner and I was very loyal to him. However, he moved out and gave me to his friend. Unfortunately, his friend got evicted and wasn’t so nice and just left me behind to fend for myself. I liked to follow the kids in the trailer park around. They were very nice to me. I would walk them to the bus in the morning and then lay in the streets waiting for them to come home. I would greet them at the bus stop and follow them to their homes. I didn’t have a regular meal schedule and appreciated anyone who gave me food, which was mostly table food. The manager did bring me a doghouse, but I preferred to lay out in the street. The manager was worried I might get hit by and with the weather getting colder, so she contacted CAMO Rescue to help me. A nice lady came to pick me up. And took me to her house. I was covered with dirt and fleas. She gave me some medicine to get rid of the bugs and gave me a nice warm bath. The water was brown as it ran over my thin body. The soap and gentle scrubbing, felt really good. She took me for a walk to make sure that all the bugs were gone and to dry off. She also gave me a haircut to remove some mats in my fur. I felt so much better She brought me in her home where I met her other dogs. They wanted to play, but I was not so interested She didn’t know I was already house trained so she put a belly band on me just in case I tried to pee in the house. She didn’t know I was already a good houseguest and went to the back door when I needed to go out to do my business. I quickly learned how to use her doggie door and was able to go in and out by myself. I slept in a crate at her house for the first two nights and after that, I’ve been sleeping in her bed ever since. I like it when she lifts up the covers and I go all the way to the bottom y the foot of the bed to keep warm. Sometimes in the morning I like to sleep in. But when I wake up, I go right outside and do my business. Then it’s time for breakfast. I am a good boy who enjoys gentle pets and a good cuddle. I like to go on walks but pull on the leash a little bit because I’m so excited to see the next new adventure. I also like going for car rides. I have been around toddlers and the kids at the trailer park. I’m not much of a ball player so stuffy toys are just fine with me. I also occasionally get the zoomies and can outrun the young pups. I am a young 8 year-old and weigh about 15 pounds. I had all my vetting done, including a dental where they had to pull a few teeth and remove a tiny pencil eraser size growth from my right side. I am heartworm negative and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I even have pro heart 12 on board which means I am good on heartworm prevention for one year. I do have very mild seizures once in a while, but I’m not on any medication. I just get a little dazed for a few minutes and then I’m OK. I am looking for my forever home where I can cuddle with you, gaze into your eyes and give and receive lots of love. My foster mom tells me I am a very good boy one of the best dogs she’s ever has. Adoption fee $250 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable.
