Story
Millie is a sweet, happy, loving little dog ad eager to please!. She likes to take short walks with you. She is not leash trained, but she is learning. Off leash, she will make every step I make. She loves to play tug of war and fetch for short periods. She is well potty trained to the outside. She has gotten along with the neighbors dogs. My cats ignore her, but she would be friends if they would. She does have some medical conditions. She has Cushing's disease which is being controlled with daily meds. She needs bathes 3 times a week with a medicated shampoo. Skin problems from one of the side affects of Cushing's is skin issues. She has had 4 tumors removed. One tumor was covering an eye, the eye is fine. She has some fatty tumors, lipomas that are benign and do not affect her at all. She was originally found on Lake Rayburn in 2010 with a litter of half grown puppies by a couple that went to her foster's church. The wife died and the husband sent her to be euthanized. At the vet's office someone stepped in and saved her life. At that time, we did not know where she came from. Mille is an absolute DOLL! She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home. Millie has cushings so will have to remain on meds for life as well as daily eye drops 2x a day for dry eye, so her adoption fee has been waived. Millie weighs 20 lbs. Millie's adoption fee is WAIVED FOR THE RIGHT HOME. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Story
Bowser is a 5 year old, 19 pound poodle who was transferred from Harris County Animal Control. He was taken in with a few other dogs who were living in horrible conditions. Bowser was very matted and very scared when first arriving. He has warmed up a bit since being with us, but would need a very patient and loving adopter. Preferably with another dog in the home to help Bowser feel comfortable and safe. He is also needing an adult only home. With some time and love Bowser can learn what it means to be cared for. This sweet guy has been through it, but now he's off to a fresh new start in life, and we couldn't be more excited for him to find his forever home. Bowser is fully vetted and ready for adoption. Bowser's adoption fee is $200. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Story
Meet Ernest, a sweet and loyal, 7 year old, 20-pound Miniature Poodle. Ernest is an incredibly affectionate dog who loves nothing more than cuddling up next to his favorite humans. Although Ernest doesn't love his feet being touched but our kennel staff is working on that with him. Ernest is slowly making progress with his feet being handled. He is dog selective and happiest as an only dog. Ernest is well behaved on leash. He is house trained, but will need to learn your routine. Ernest prefers a calm and predictable routine. He can be a little shy when he first meets new people, but he warms up quickly with some patience and gentle encouragement. Ernest would prefer a home without children, but would be happy to nap in his crate if children visit occasionally. If you're a patient and understanding person looking for a loyal companion to share your life with, Ernest could be the perfect match for you. Adoption fee is waived to the right home. All adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Story
Jacques Aka "Jocko is a 2 year old, 58lbs Springerdoodle being fostered in the North Houston Area. Jocko has spent almost half his life in the Rescue as he waited for bilateral hip surgery after possibly being hit by a car. He is now fully able to roughhouse with his foster siblings as well as go for walks and do normal day to day things. Jocko loves to follow you around the house and would excel in a setting with someone home a lot of the day. He does best being left for no more then 6 hours max. Jocko still has some puppy energy throughout the day as he never really had the chance to be a puppy. He would be ideally suited to a Family with teens or an active person /couple. He is potty trained, walks well on leash, knows basic commands like "sit, stay, off and is highly motivated by treats. His pastimes include - stealing and eating cucumbers from the garden, roughhousing and playing tug with his foster siblings (human and dogs), dancing in the rain, watching deer out the window, chewing his bones (this is such a good outlet for some of his puppy energy) and NAPS! Jocko does love his walks but he is reactive to cars - which is something he is currently working on and may need continued work. Walking in quiet areas is a must. Otherwise, playing in a large backyard would also work. He would thrive in a home with other large dogs that can hold their own but would back down when his puppy energy becomes a little much . He has learned so much in a short time following his foster dog siblings around and looks to them for guidance as to how to "be a dog throughout the day. Jocko has so much potential and love to give. He has had a rough start in life but has come so far in a foster home setting and is now ready to find a patient family to call his own! Adoption fee is: $300 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with the foster to set up a meet and greet. Story
SophieAnn Grace is a 4 year old poodle mix that weighs approximately 13 pounds. She was found as a stray on the streets super scared of humans and very timid. After a good bath, haircut, and a warm bed, SophieAnn started to realize that humans are actually not that bad! It has taken her at least 6 months, but SophieAnn will now come up and sit on the couch with you, but still at an arms distance away. She is still unsure about being loved on and petted by humans. Occasionally, she will allow you to get her on a leash and that is when she will become shy and allow you to gently pet her. However, she still is learning what it means to walk on a leash as well as trust and not run away from human contact. SophieAnn Grace would do best in a single adult household as she does tend to resource guard her person. Additionally, she needs another dog in the house to play with and teach her how to be a dog as well as show her that human love is okay. She is currently following and bonding with her fellow foster siblings and learning their daily routines. She enjoys running around outside on grass but currently does not play with toys. She does enjoy curling up in her many calming cuddle beds around the house and at the foot of her foster's bed at night. SophieAnn Grace is very food motivated and loves raw carrots and peanut butter! She is doing well with potty training, but as with any rescue dog, there can be occasional accidents in the house. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and is heart worm negative. SophieAnn can't wait to find her furever family that is willing to slowly work with her and show her that humans are the best fur-parents ever! UPDATE!!! It has taken over 6 months, but recently, SophieAnn has started jumping on the bed at night and will lay at your feet or by your legs. She has started to jump up on the couch and will allow one of her foster parents to pet her without being scared and trying to run or bite. SophieAnn needs someone who will be patient with her and allow her to adjust in her own time to human contact and love. She is amazing with other dogs but just still very timid about humans, especially those she does not know well. Adoption fee is: $300 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet.
