Story
Hi everyone, I’m Oscar. I’m almost three years old. I’m a very sweet boy, I love to try to get the old men in my foster home to play with me, but they’re not very interested. I’d love to have a playmate and my foster mom says I must have a fenced in yard so I can run and work off some of my energy. I love to cuddle with my foster mom and give kisses to all. I really like people and am a good boy – most of the time. I get really scared at the vet and groomer; I don’t try to bite or anything, but my doctor says I flail (whatever that means), so I have to take some drugs to calm me down a bit, and I get groomed at the vet. I’d love to find my forever home soon! From mom:  Oscar is quite the character. He’s house and crate trained, neutered, chipped and is current on his vaccines and heartworm meds. Oscar must have a fenced yard, he walks and potties fine on a leash, but he really needs to let off some energy (or he will let it off in the house!). Oscar came from a bad situation, and gets scared at the vet and groomer. I have groomed him a couple times (clean ups), but for a full groom, he is sedated at the vet. I have tried the mobile groomer (he does get carsick), but the clippers and scissors freak him out, and the groomers (we’ve tried a couple), are worried he’ll injure himself trying to get away. He has been boarded several times and does very well. He loves people and is very friendly and social with other dogs (he drives the old men here crazy). No idea with cats (he might give chase) but I don’t think he’d know what to do if he caught one. He loves to look at the deer that come in the yard. I think he’d be great with older kids (10+), I’d be worried he might knock smaller kids over though. He’s very athletic and can jump and climb, so any fence needs to be an appropriate height. He loves his food and especially his cookies. He doesn’t really have any interest in toys, I’m not sure he understands what they are. I think Oscar would do best with a doggie buddy who can show him the ropes. He’s good inside (unless energy!) and doesn’t chew or get into things he shouldn’t. Oscar’s adoption fee is only $350. He is fostered in Michigan, so is enjoying the snow. Oscar needs someone to work with him and have patience while he’s settling in and getting used to a new home. I also think training would be helpful (he loves to be busy, so redirecting him would be a great thing). Oscar just needs love and the ability to sleep on the couch. If you think you’d be a great fit please fill out the application to start the process. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets? Story
Meet Heather – the 10-pound lovebug in poodle form! At 7 years old, Heather is a gentle, curious mini poodle with a heart full of love. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but her natural curiosity always shines through. Once she feels safe, Heather blossoms into a wiggly, affectionate companion, greeting you with tail wags, kisses, and her signature “rooooo, rooooo” – which earned her the nickname Renny Roo. Heather is happiest when she’s close to her person. She adores being held, and will gladly curl up in your lap, by your side on the couch, or even on the floor—anywhere you are. She finds comfort in the gentle touch of a hand resting on her, a simple gesture that makes her feel safe and loved. She’s still working on her potty training and making steady progress. With regular outdoor breaks, she’s learning the routine. Leashes aren’t her favorite, so for now, she prefers being carried outside—which is no trouble since she’s light as a feather. Heather is still learning what toys are all about, but she recently discovered the joy of tossing around a sock and proudly parading it through the house. A soft, slinky plush toy might be right up her alley! She thrives on affection and will do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Heather does experience some separation anxiety and can be quite vocal about her feelings, so apartment living may not be ideal. When alone, she settles well in a spacious crate with her bed, food, water, and room to stretch out. Over time, we’ve come to learn that Heather would truly flourish in a home with another confident dog. A calm canine companion can help her feel more secure and encourage her playful, loving nature to shine even brighter. Heather is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Otto - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hello big ole world, I'm Otto and I'm here looking to adopt me a family, a home...one I can say will be all mine! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of yours!!!! I've had a very loving home until my person passed away. The family was either unable or didn't want me so I was surrendered to the local shelter. After just losing my person and my home, being thrown into a cold noisy place, I wasn't doing the best. This wonderful rescue saw this and pulled me outta there to give me a chance to find my loving second home. I is a sweet, adorable, social pup of around 2 years old and 17lbs that has that cuteness overload that will win over your heart with my charming and sometimes silly personality. I was used to my person being home with me and would be happiest with someone that is retired or works from home. I am not much for other 4 legged beings, I'd much rather hog all the attention as your one and only!! I is ready to start this next chapter in life with lots of puppy kisses, tail wags and cuddles with my new family!! I do great with people, they are my most favoritest thing but I would probably do best in a home with older (8+) kiddos. I am house trained, love love love car rides to see the sights and going for neighborhood strolls. I will need regular grooming to help keep me looking this stunningly handsome but my puppy dog eyes and butt wiggles will be so worth it!! I am sooooo ready to unleash all this awesomeness on a family and be that lil heartbeat at your feet, so if you think I'd be a pawsome fit for you and your lifestyle, please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application! It can be found at haydudeequine.org
