Story
Fresh out of the oven and as sweet as can be, this adorable trio of 8 week old boys is ready to melt hearts everywhere! The Cookie Dough Litter is a playful mix of Schnoodle and Border Terrier, which means they’re equal parts cuddly, curious, and full of puppy mischief. These little guys are just discovering the world—every toy is exciting, every sound is fascinating, and every moment is an adventure waiting to happen. They love to tumble around together, chase after toys, and then pile up in a cozy puppy cuddle puddle when it’s time to recharge. With their soft coats, bright eyes, and wiggly tails, they’re impossible to resist. Each one has his own budding personality, but they all share one thing in common: a whole lot of love to give. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, playful chaos, and a lifetime of loyalty, one (or maybe two!) of these sweet boys could be the perfect addition to your family. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. Please note a Petfinder and Adoptapet Inquiry is not applying for the dog. You have to come to the event or send an email inquiry to our records email.

Story
Simmba has been waiting for his forever home for over a year now at Shelter Hope. Simmba is a 3 y/o and 13 lb Poodle mix who was surrendered the day after Christmas 2024. Before that, he lived only outdoors and received less attention as his family’s children grew older. Despite this, Simmba has a huge heart and blossoms with patience, consistency, and kindness. Simmba loves fetch, squeaky toys, and zooming or rolling through the grass, as well as soaking up the sun on his favorite bench. Indoors, he keeps his lamby toy close, happily offers enthusiastic face kisses, and adores cuddles, belly rubs, and simply being near his people. He also respects boundaries and will retreat to his bed or “sanctuary” when asked. His foster tells us he seems fully potty trained, food-motivated, and already knows the “sit” command. Simmba can be protective and sometimes needs help navigating his big feelings (which is why he’s often called a “project dog”) but he bonds deeply and is incredibly loyal once trust is built. He does have some skin allergies, possibly food-related, and currently wears a cone to prevent licking, though it doesn’t slow down his playful, quirky personality. He does best in a calm, low-chaos environment, where he can grow more confident and relaxed. His foster is actively socializing him with new people and other dogs, and he’s making excellent progress. With his fun-loving nature, Simmba could do well as an only dog or with another small, friendly, playful female dog as a companion. What he truly needs is a home without kids who is willing to give him the time and understanding he’s waited so long for. Simmba has so much love to give. All he’s missing is his forever home 🐾 ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
Ohnee is a 7.5-year-old, 17-lb poodle whose life has been shaped by loss, but her heart is still so full of love. When Ohnee was just a puppy, her beloved human mom passed away. She was taken in by the daughter, who already had too many dogs and couldn’t properly care for them. Over the years, Ohnee quietly endured neglect until animal control stepped in. She was surrendered to Shelter Hope so she could have the best chance at finding the loving forever home she deserves. When Ohnee arrived, she was in rough shape, severely matted, overweight, and filthy. The vet removed two mammary tumors and gave her a full dental and bloodwork. Today, Ohnee is feeling so much better and showing us who she really is. And who she is? A gentle, playful, and mellow little soul. Ohnee seems housebroken, enjoys being around kids, loves people-watching, and is perfectly content relaxing in her dog bed, soaking in the calm she’s been missing for so long. Ohnee has lost so much in her life, but she hasn’t lost her sweetness. She’s ready for a soft place to land, a steady routine, and someone who will love her for the rest of her days. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a quiet, resilient spirit, Ohnee is waiting for you! More from her foster: She likes short walks and literally prances every morning because she is so happy to see me. Super sweet little girl. Unfortunately she is almost completely deaf. She's needs a calm household with people who are mindful of where she is. ------ Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers.
