Story
Meet Max Mailman! Little Max's mom fell asleep in her recliner and sadly never woke up. Friends of ours from the San Diego House Rabbit Society were called to her house, because her rabbits were micro-chipped to their organization. They retrieved the rabbits and offered to help place her beloved dog, Max, too. They called us, and Max became a Frosted Face on November 9, 2022. He is 14 years old and weighs 20 lbs. We've had a bunch of Frosted Faces named "Max", so he got the fun nickname Max Mailman because he is so friendly, and his ears are in the wind as he "rushes from house to house," more like person to person seeking pets in the yard! Like many seniors, Max is vision impaired, but he at least sees shadows. It doesn't slow him down either! Max Mailman loves going on our weekly FFF hikes, and he glides along the trails gracefully with his long legs. He acts younger than his years! Max is a super sweet, fun-sized guy who has lived with bunnies, dogs, cats, and horses! He has been living in a Foster home since December while he waits for his forever family. His Foster Mom shares: "Max is the perfect companion! He just wants to be close to his person. He enjoys laying on the couch with me, but he also sleeps in his dog bed. Max is very friendly with people and is always wagging his tail. He does so well in a home! Max seems to like all food and likes to be left alone while eating. He loves to run when he is outside to go potty. While he does sometimes have accidents inside, it's manageable by taking him outside frequently and using diapers. Max doesn't like my cats, because due to his poor vision, he can't always see when they're nearby. He will try to chase them if he sees one, but he's too slow for them though! Max is a great guy, very quiet and always ready to give kisses & tail wags. He just wants someone to love. He follows me around the house all the time. He loves hanging out in the kitchen. He enjoys napping most of the day and sleeps well through the night." Max Mailman has a great foster home, but he is still looking for his forever home. Might it be with YOU?

Story
Meet Yogi! In October 2024, we rescued 12-year-old Yogi from Baldwin Park Shelter, where he had been brought as a stray. He is a fun and quirky little guy that needs a family who will be patient and give him time to settle in and feel comfortable. Might you be the understanding forever family Yogi needs? Yogi has been thriving in his Foster home. His Foster Mom reports it took a few weeks for him to get completely comfortable with her. Now, they share cuddles and kisses, and he is her little shadow! She is continuing to work with Yogi to be comfortable with others, and he has come a long way, although he can still get a bit scared. Yogi is noww allowing others to touch him now without reacting, and this is tremendous progress! Yogi is great with other animals! He gets along well with the dog in his Foster home and with other dogs and cats he's met. Yogi has somewhat limited hearing and sight, but he knows where his bed is and even puts himself in his soft enclosure at night. He doesn't have separation anxiety. Because he has no teeth, Yogi uses his gums and floppy tongue, so he needs a bigger bowl for his food. He's a foodie who gets so excited during meal prep that he starts dancing around the kitchen! Yogi loves going outside, and as long as he goes out every few hours, he doesn't have potty accidents. He walks to the door but doesn't vocally alert you when he needs to go. He's the sweetest boy, who loves to sleep and eat. He does zoomies when his foster mom gets home from work. Yogi is ready for his forever home! A little patience pays off with this sweet dog who really wants love and attention. If you're looking for a quirky, loving companion who's come a long way, Yogi might be the perfect addition to your family. Yogi would thrive in a home with another chill dog. He needs a family that can offer him patience and time to build trust and feel secure. If you have a spot in your heart for Yogi, please email our Placement Coordinators at adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org.

Story
Meet Bubblicious! Bubblicious entered Bonita Shelter as a stray with a filthy, overgrown coat covered with foxtails and plant debris. For his comfort, the shelter performed a sedated shave down, and Bubblicious also had neuter and dental surgery while there. When Bubbicious wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on September 30th to become a Frosted Face. He is about 8 years old, weighs just under 12 lbs., and despite all he's been through, is a super sweet cuddle bug! Bubblicious just left on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what he is like in a home environment. "Bubblicious (or "Bubbee as I affectionately call him) is an incredible little dog! I've been flinging him the last 4 weeks, and this is what I've learned: * Bubbee is full of life!!! He's an absolute sweetheart with a big personality! * He LOVES the beach! He has a blast at Del Mar dog beach, enjoys sunset walks, and even wades in the water. He's also a big fan of bath time and adores his toys. * Bubbee is more of a backyard or dog park guy than a long-walk type, and he's great in a sling or stroller if you're out and about. Plus, he's awesome in the car! * At night, he sleeps in his dog bed with an open crate setup, but sometimes he'll switch to the living room bed. * Bubbee is a true velcro dog who loves to cuddle and would thrive with someone who can be home with him often. He will get attached, as will you! * He gets along well with other dogs, doesn't bark at them, and is very friendly with dogs of all sizes at the park and beach. * He only barks when I leave, as he has a little separation anxiety and does best with someone who can give him lots of love and attention. In summary, Bubbee is playful, affectionate, and has tons of love to give!" To meet this very special boy, please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org.

Story
Meet Jack Dawson! Jack was entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program when his mom moved into a memory care facility. Sadly, due to his mom's declining health, Jack did not receive the attention or care he deserved during the past year. His mom's friends advocated for Jack to become a Frosted Face, and on October 3rd, we happily welcomed him. Jack is very sweet, enjoys short walks, and does well with other dogs. He is 15 years old and weighs 24 lbs. Jack looks amazing after a much-needed appointment with our groomer! He seems to feel better and be happier, too! Jack is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so he can receive extra TLC while we learn what he is like in a home environment. His Fling Mom reports: "Jack is an adorable boy who was clearly in much need of a loving home environment. It's absolutely mind boggling to see how much growth he's shown in such a short amount of time! Jack likes being where you are, but is also okay enough being left home alone during the day. He does bark a little at first but eventually calms down. His favorite place in my apartment is the couch. He is a loving boy who will not be shy about wanting attention! Jack was clearly well-trained and knows sit and paw and the meaning of "no!. He did mark in the beginning, but other than that is potty trained. He is such a good boy that when he had an upset stomach at night, he tried to make it to the door and then woke me up when he had an accident. While he did have some trouble with resource guarding and not really liking my own dog at first, I was quickly able to nip that in the bud. and he has grown to care for the three of us as a pack. In fact, one night when my own dog wasn't feeling well Jack woke me up and wouldn't go back to bed until I checked in on her! I've noticed that Jack has gained a lot of confidence through socializing with other dogs whom he likes and sees while on walks. He typically likes going on slow/medium paced walks, making him an awesome strolling buddy. He also tolerates sitting in the car quite well and can even jump in and out of my car. I usually take him with me whenever I run errands. Jack does still struggle with eating, and tries to hide his food if you give him too much at once- this poor boy has clearly been malnourished for a long time, but I suspect that as he gains more confidence, he will become a much better eater. However, he loves treats (and will perk up if you say that word around him). Please choose Jack if you are looking for a loyal, smart, loving, and well-mannered boy. Every time I tell people that he is 15, they are all floored- he seems much younger! If I had the resources to adopt him myself, I would- so please don't hesitate to make him part of your family! Please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule a time to meet this special boy.

Story
Meet Simmons! Simmons entered Bonita Shelter as a stray with a dirty, matted coat. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on November 7th to become a Frosted Face. Simmons is 10 years old and weighs 13.5 lbs. He looks so adorable after being groomed! Despite what he's been through recently, Simmons is a happy and friendly boy who acts younger than his years and enjoys playing fetch! Simmons is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about him, including what he is like in a home setting. We received this great update from his Fling Mom: "Simmons is going to bring so much joy to whoever adopts him. He loves to play for several short sessions each day (see videos). He gets super excited when I come home and jumps for joy. Simmons would enjoy another playful dog in the home. He keeps trying to get my dogs to play, but they are a bunch of old fuddy duddies! A few other things I have already learned about Simmons: * Bonds to his people instantly * Gets along with my dogs * Sleeps through the night in my bed * Walks to the back door when he wants to be let out to potty * Doesn't seem to have separation anxiety * Does well in the car and enjoys going places" Check back soon for the next update on Simmons's fling! To meet this fun & cuddly boy, please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org.

Story
Paloma was found in the streets of Los Angeles. She had a few minor injuries that she has already recovered from. Paloma is about 1 year old female poodle/maltese mix. She weights 15 lbs. She may get to 20 lbs max when she is fully grown. She is spayed and her shots are up to date. Her blood work came back clean. She is in great healt! Paloma is a smart and friendly girl. In just a few weeks, she learned to use the pee pee pads, to walk on the leash, and to wait until she is walked to go potty. She sleeps in her own bed throughout the night. She gets along with my three dogs. I have taken her to hang out with family and friends, and she loves EVERYONE. Paloma enjoys playing with other small dogs and kids. I have not introduced her to large dogs or cats, but I think she will be fine with both. She loves chewing on toys. She is not destructive, but she has stolen a few socks to play with them. Asking for a $250 rehoming fee to help me cover her sterilization and vet bills.
