Story
Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 10 pounds Precious Pearl is a darling senior who is ready to scamper into her forever home! Though we are unsure of what life was like for Pearl before joining POMDR, we know it can only get better from here. This sweet girl is learning that people can be good and kind, and with a little help from a tasty treat, you are sure to find a place in her heart. This little lady has such a sweet and quirky personality, she makes everyone giddy with laughter. She can be found proudly prancing around with one of her beloved "babies" (a plush toy) in her mouth, going from room to room to check on everyone in her foster's home. This sweet girl gets along great with other small dogs who don't mind her uncoordinated quirky self. It is clear this little darling has experienced some traumas in her past, because she really doesn't enjoy being left alone. She will cry, whine, and search desperately for a companion when left alone. Worry not! We do not expect our adopters to tackle separation anxiety alone, we have a wonderful behavior team that is happy to walk through just what to do in order to make Pearl feel more confident and content when left alone. This curly girl joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after she was picked up as a stray with a severely injured eye. We removed her painful, non-functional eye, and she is healed up and feeling much better!

Story
Looks like: Poodle mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 11 pounds Terra is a happy little lady ready to land in her forever home! Terra appreciates regular meals, a couple of well-timed treats, walks around the neighborhood, and loads of love. At the end of her busy day, she enjoys relaxing on the couch snuggled up next to you. Although she definitely prefers when her human companion is around, she is also fine when left home alone for a little while. Up until now, Terra did not get a chance to live life to the fullest and she is eager to catch up on the plush pampered poodle lifestyle. This sweet girl is perfectly polite when meeting new pups and will give them an initial sniff but doesn't really pay them any mind after that. She does have a bit of a wobbly walk, but she gets around beautifully. Our vet staff diagnosed Terra with a heart condition known as an AV Block, which means she cannot undergo surgery due to possible complications under anesthesia. For this reason, Terra is looking for a home that is comfortable adminstering life long oral medication to her daily. At her foster home she is getting introduced to car rides and, although she is not the biggest fan yet, she takes new experiences in stride. This beautiful soul is dreaming of a home where she can be part of all the daily activities, and where she can give and receive lots and lots of attention and affection. Terra was roaming the streets as a stray when a good Samaritan saw a truck run over her -- fortunately without making contact! She was taken to Hitchcock Road Animal Services before joining POMDR.

Story
Looks like: West Highland Terrier/Poodle mix Female, 13 years old (estimated), 12 pounds Fergie is a little lady looking for a calm place to call her own. This sweet girl has a way of making you melt at first sight! Her mellow energy, gentle touch, and silly quirks make her the ideal companion for anyone willing to help her find her way in this scary world. Little Fergie enjoys being carried to her potty destinations, sun bathing, and tasting all the yummy treats she can get! Her fur is extremely soft and she is excellent at navigating her surroundings. She does not seem afraid and is able to let her foster mom know when she needs help navigating public spaces. Sweet Fergie does great with other dogs, and her foster mom reports that she enjoys the company of their 3-year-old granddaughter, but we have not seen how she does with cats just yet. The ideal home for little Fergie would be free from stairs or any other potential dangers, due to her vision impairment. Fergie recently underwent total eye enucleation as she was already blind and we were concerned that her eyes may be painful. This loving girl came to us when San Jose Animal Care and Services reached out seeking rescue to help her with her medical needs.

Story
Looks like: Poodle mix Male, 8 years old (estimated), 16 pounds Little Hatchling is a social and bouncy boy who makes friends with everyone he meets! Big dogs? Love them! Small dogs? Of course! Be careful -- he might just wiggle his way right into your heart! This happy little Hatchling joined us from Elk Grove Animal Services after he was found as a stray. Due to his senior status, he was having a challenging time finding a forever home. We're thrilled to help him along this journey to find his forever people!

Story
Looks like: Poodle mix Male, 5 years old (estimated), 12 pounds Ronald Weasley, a character all of his own. This quirky little guy has personality to spare. He's 100% goof-ball! Looking for a dog who will give you a giggle? Ronald is your boy! This silly curly little guy loves to cuddle up in your lap or roll over for a nice tummy rub. Those long legs of his can really get moving when he wants so he'd likely do best in an active home where he can get his steps in. Ron gets along great with other pups but people are really where he shines. Little Ron joins us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he was picked up as a stray.

Story
Looks like: Poodle, Dachshund mix Female, 12 years old (estimated), 8 pounds Buffy carries a heart full of love and a spirit as brave as a slayer. Her sweetness is as endearing as her friendliness is inviting. Buffy's mellow temperament makes her a joy to be around, and her gentle nature is a comfort to all who know her. Despite some vision loss, Buffy is brave and courageous, embodying the spirit of her namesake, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She's also incredibly cuddly, making her the perfect companion for those cozy nights in. In fact, we affectionately refer to her as Buffy the nap slayer! With Buffy, you're not just adopting a pet, you're welcoming a loyal friend who will offer unconditional love and companionship. Adopt Buffy and let her bring a touch of sweetness and bravery into your life. This sweet lady gets along well with other dogs and adores her humans. She is losing some of her vision so she can be startled when people come to pet her or pick her up. A gentle pat on her body or head is all she asks for to ensure she knows you're there. Buffy joins us from the Bradshaw Sacramento County Animal Shelter after it was found that she would benefit from joining a senior rescue to best meet her needs.
