Story

This is Waffles, he was found as a stray in Tijuana in March 2024 and we adopted him in May. We estimate he is about 3-4 years old based on the condition of his teeth. Waffles is a reactive dog. We wanted to try giving him to a home that's a better fit because 98% of the time he is very sweet. He just might be happier in a home with a single person that he can bond to. The dynamic with my husband and myself as his co owners has been hard on him; he prefers my husband, doesn't see me as equal to him and acts accordingly. He's bitten me 4 times, as well as the groomer once and a friend that dog-sat for us. We hired a personal dog trainer through Bark Busters pretty soon after we got him and have had him on Prozac and Gabapentin for 6-8 weeks now, but the biting has continued. He's very smart and quickly learned Sit, Lie Down, Shake and has made good progress on roll over, and he's very affectionate when he wants to be. He loves to play with toys too.

This brave lady has had it pretty ruff lately. Thankfully, with the help of some TLC and sunbeam naps Honey P is gaining her confidence and feeling better every day. She's even in the process of writing a TED Talk: From Ruff to Tough: How treats, love, and soft beds can lead to becoming the best you. Here's some notes from her foster: Sweetie has been the best guest these past few weeks. She is quiet, doesn't make a sound, and will happily follow you around the house, curious about your day. Despite her size, Sweetie does shake when she's put in a bag at first. After getting used to me she stopped shaking as much, but she's not a huge fan of the big outdoors so we spend more time in the backyard or indoors together. She has such a fun personality but it will take some time to build her confidence. She hears well with her big ears, and she can navigate well in spite of her cloudy eye. She is a peppy little companion and will be a great snuggle buddy to someone. Sweetie is potty trained but doesn't give many cues and is too small to push open the dog door I have, so I put her outside every few hours and she'll happily find a spot to go. In the morning it's important to take her out first thing.. Sweetie loves being on her feet. She may not like to walk everywhere but she is perfectly capable of getting around by herself, and she enjoys it! I will usually have her trail behind me as a stroll, and she will sniff and walk at her own pace. Sometimes she doesn't want to walk and she'll be in her bag instead. She is scared of the world but is slowly opening up to it again!!

Yes, all mutts are perfect. So what should we call it when someone like Tex comes along who blows up the curve for everyone else? This sweet, handsome guy just radiates happiness. He loves dogs, people, cuddles, snacks, and even bath time. When he’s feeling extra relaxed he’ll give you the generous gift of showing you his tongue. Wait for it… wait for it… bloop! Here's some notes from his foster: He’s a very sweet and snuggly pup. He loves attention from anyone or anything. He’ll put on the brakes and force you to stop if he see’s someone coming so he’ll get pets from a stranger. He’s so loving, protective, and confident. Tex and I were on a walk once with my beagle and another person’s dog barked at us and Tex wanted to run to our defense immediately. My beagle has a bit of separation anxiety so I put pet cams in my apartment so I can monitor her when I leave. One day I left to run errands and I checked the cameras and my beagle went to cry at the door and Tex waddled over to her and sat next to her and she stopped crying. It was top ten cutest things I’ve ever seen.
