Story
My name is Lass and I’m looking for my forever home! I’m 6 y.o. and weigh about 15 pounds. Foster mom says I’m a sweetheart and a very good girl. I’m looking for a quiet, calm forever home where I can have a soft bed to lay in. I love to have a nice human friend to give me pets and head and cheek scritches and goodnight snuggles. I came to my foster home here in Monroe, WI, from a commercial breeding facility where it was my job to make puppies. I’m glad that hard work is over. I’m still learning about what it’s like to live with humans in a home. I’m shy and may not approach for affection, but I love it when my foster mom gets down on the floor with me. I’m learning so much from the other resident dogs here. I enjoy their company. They help me feel safe and are teaching me how to play. I’m a very good girl when my foster family goes out. I’m potty trained I’m actually more relaxed when the humans aren’t around – that’s when I socialize with the other dogs, act silly and chase my tail, and when I eat and drink. But I’m learning that humans can be kind and gentle. I let foster mom pick me up with no worries. I’m learning all kinds of new things here, like walking on a leash. I’m starting to get the hang of it and with some more practice, I’ll be a pro. I would do best in an adult-only forever home. I’m scared of human kids – they move too quickly and their noises scare me and I just freak out and go hide. I have not lived with any cats, but I ignore the guinea pig who lives here. I’m a healthy girl – spayed and vaccinated. My perfect forever home will have a patient person who understands that it may take me a while to relax and feel safe. I’d love to have another dog around to help teach me the ropes, and a securely fenced yard is a must, since I’m still figuring out leash walks. If you live in the Midwest and would like a shy, sweet girl like me to be your companion, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they’ll introduce you to my foster mom, so we can meet!
