Story
Jake is a handsome 4 yr old Schipperke (possibly mix). He is an excellent walking partner who can walk up to five miles daily.  He would also be a good companion for a hiker.  Jake enjoys trail adventures as much as walks in the park and on the greenway. Jake is a true Schipperke who is busy and seldom walks when he can trot or scamper. If you know Schipperkes, Jake will feel very familiar to you. Jake is smart and inquisitive but also wants to please. Jake is content to hang out with you, beside you, and/or on your lap.  Jake is not a barker (unless there is a reason to bark, like a stranger in the house), he is good crated and LOVES his routine of daily morning walks, regardless of the weather, with his foster mom.  Jake, like most Schipperkes, possesses extraordinary senses and an inherent suspicion of strangers. Jake could be an only dog or share his home with another dog his size, preferably a Schipperke. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO YOUNG CHILDREN) WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD FOR JAKE'S ADOPTIVE HOME.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 ½ inches and attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT.  No exceptions.    We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee:  $400December 22, 2024, 2:00 am
