You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.  If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application.  If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.   Meet Foxy! How could we NOT name her that, she is a total fox look alike! This beauty was rescued from the steets of Baja in Ensenada as a pregnant stray. Unfortunately she gave birth before her rescuer could schedule her spay and had 6 pups. As of October the pups reached 2 months old and where able to be moved. The rescuer took mom and her pups to a local shelter and sadly Foxy did not pass the intake exam "too shy' so they accepted her pups but not her. Her rescuer contact ARWOB and we of course LOVE the underdogs, especially the "too shy" doggos and accepted her. She is such a lover, she adores humans, she is what we would call more of a 'human dog' than 'dog dog' meaning she seeks human companionship more than she does that of dog friends. She is dog friendly and when she is comfortable with the dogs she meets she will open up and start to play with them, otherwise she just coexists, never has she been aggresive towards any dog. She is a 'let me be, I seek no drama' kinda gal. Exposed to cats and has not had any problems with them either.  She is OK with kids, she does prefer adults vs children but she is safe around kids.  Crate and mostly house trained. She will need to enroll on normal dog obedience group class so she can learn about 'life as a pet dog' meaning leash walks, walking in groups around dogs, etc.  note - 2/10/26  Fox had eye surgery on her left eye through a specialist In San Diego. Sadly, she had a large ulcer that needed repair and only and ophthalmologist could repair it. Costly, especially with no funds for it but we could not choose to remove her eye knowing it was fixable.  If you like the Schip or Corgi breeds, this girl is as close as they come. We only label her these breeds because of her physical attributes NOT her genetic component, if you are specifically looking for the personality of those breeds, we don't know if she has it as she is likely a super mutt with many breeds none of which are likely those breeds (who knows) BUT this is what she looks like, that and an actual Fox!  Foxy as of 11/24 is seeking a foster in central san diego as she has her spay appoinment in north park on 12/1/25 at which point she can then be available for adoption. If you'd like to foster her until then its perfect time to get to know her and perhaps adopt her once she is ready OR just foster her whichever you feel like you are ready for in life. She is a healthy dog who is done with her vetting and will make a wonderful companion. Visit ARWOB.org to submit applications online, once we receive an application we will contact you via email or text to schedule a call and talk about our process in the hopes of moving fwd with a meet and greet. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. Story
Meet Phinat! DOB: 11/21/2024Weight: 32lbs.Disposition: Confident, social and energeticPhinat is a confident, friendly dog who loves meeting visitors. She gets along with other dogs and loves to play with other confident dogs in her play group. She walks assertive in all environments, including busy areas, and is comfortable around people. While she may become slightly tense around other dogs and eager to approach, she remains calm and approachable, especially when off leash in the play yard where she enjoys exploring and running. History: Phinat was seven months old when she arrived at Soi Dog Foundation’s hospital in June 2025 after a road traffic accident. X-rays revealed fractures in her femur, tail, and pelvis. She underwent surgery to repair her left femur and had her tail amputated. With dedicated care, Phinat made a strong recovery. Best Home: Phinat would do best in with a family, couple or individual who has an active, structured home that can match her energy and confidence. She would be happy in a home with another confident and playful dog or would be fine as the only dog in the household.Amazing Qualities: Resilient, playful and fun-lovig. Story
Meet Marionette! DOB: 06/30/2023Weight: 26lbs.Disposition: Happy, resilient, and affectionate dog who has embraced life as a tripod with confidence. She is friendly, adaptable, and gentle, enjoying being around people and forming close bonds. Despite everything she has been through, she maintains a positive outlook and approaches life with a calm, easygoing nature.History: Marionette arrived at Soi Dog Foundation’s shelter on April 24, 2025, following a road traffic accident. Upon arrival, she was found to have a severe open fracture with necrotic tissue in her left forelimb, which required amputation to relieve pain and improve her quality of life.In July 2025, Marionette developed a corneal ulcer in her left eye, which healed fully with treatment. She also tested positive for canine distemper virus (CDV) but made a full recovery after intensive care and quarantine, with no lasting clinical signs. Additionally, she was treated for a yeast skin infection, which resolved with medication and medicated baths. At present day she is healthy, with normal blood work, and moves comfortably on her three legs without pain. She was brought to TBL in February 2026 to find her forever home.Best Home :Marionette would do best in a loving home with a couple, individual or family with kids that understands the needs of a tripod dog. Maintaining a healthy weight will be important to support her mobility, and adopters should be attentive to any signs of discomfort as she ages. A home that can provide regular veterinary care, good hygiene, and a comfortable environment will help her continue to thrive. She would do well with adopters who can offer patience, care, and plenty of love—whether in a calm home or a moderately active one that matches her abilities. Most importantly, Marionette is looking for a family who will cherish her for the incredible, resilient dog she is. Amazing Qualities: Brave, strong, inspiring Marionette’s resilience truly sets her apart. She has overcome significant challenges and continues to thrive as a confident tripod who doesn’t let her past slow her down. Her loving and gentle personality makes her a wonderful companion, and her ability to bounce back from hardship shows just how special she is. Marionette is the kind of dog who will form a deep bond with her family and bring joy to those around her.If you're interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA.
