Meet Sammy Sammy is a 4‑year‑old, 48‑pound Samoyed with a gentle soul and an easygoing nature. After being heartbreakingly abandoned in the parking lot of a local humane society, Sammy was brought to ACCT Philly, where our team found him and knew right away he deserved a fresh start. We quickly welcomed him into our rescue, and he’s been winning hearts ever since. From the moment our volunteers met him, Sammy showed just how sweet he is. He happily came right to the front of his kennel to greet everyone, was easy to leash, and walked calmly without pulling. On walks, he’s gentle, relaxed, and clearly enjoys quiet companionship. Sammy’s coat is currently in rough shape, with areas of fully shaved fur that is suspected to be the result of severe matting from previous neglect. With proper grooming, patience, and ongoing coat care, he should continue to improve, but his future family should be prepared to understand and stay on top of his grooming needs. He was discovered in time and rescued before this could happen. He survived against overwhelming odds and has been under care ever since. He is in excellent health, very affectionate with people, and gets along well with other dogs. He has a friendly, social temperament and genuinely enjoys human interaction, making him a wonderful companion. ⚠️ **Training & Behavioral Notes** Hati is still working on a few areas. He does not have accidents indoors under normal circumstances, but if confined to a kennel for longer than about 6 hours, he may not be able to hold it.
