Story
Meet Whispurr! This beautiful and loving 2 year old Russian Blue (hypoallergenic) girl has had a rough past and would very much like to be part of a loving family..You see, Whispurr is blind and about  2 years ago, somehow escaped from her then home and, unable to see, was lost in her neighborhood for a few weeks.Forgotten Felines was contacted by a Good Samaritan when they found her and she was brought into care. A week later her owner was reunited with Whispurr; however during the time Whispurr was lost outside, she became pregnant and subsequently had given birth to three beautiful kittens.Whispurr was a great mom. and even though she could not see her babies, was very attentive.  Sadly, with her babies and the humans and their other 10pets in the house, Whispurr's home situation became too stressful for her and her owners made the difficult decision to surrender Whispurr to us, feeling it would be better for her. Whispurr came into care with her two of her kittens, Twinkle and Sparkle.Whispurr is a **gorgeous** long-haired Russian Blue and is very sweet and affectionate. She loves nothing more than to sit on your lap and be petted and would be a fabulous companion cat. Due to her vision impairment, she requires a quiet, low activity home and people who will be patient in acclimating her to her new home.  You don't need experience with blind cats. Blind cats do very well even with a person inexperienced with blind cats. They memorize their surroundings a room at a time, and soon you would never know she was blind as Whispurr is very skillful at moving about, once acclimated. Whispurr is dewormed, spayed, has her FVRCP and rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. You won't need to spend money to reregister  every year - it's done for you! Let us know if you are interested in Whispurr by emailing GoodMews22@aol.com or calling 540.717.4420. Thank you! She is hoping she will have a family and home for the holidays. Please don't forget her.November 7, 2024, 1:23 am

Story
Meet Sparkle and her bonded sister, Twinkle. These Russian Blue (hypoallergenic) beauties are about a year old and are looking for their forever home. As the poem says, "Sisters, sisters, There were never such devoted sisters. Never had to have a chaperone, no sir, I'm here to keep my eye on her.” If there were ever two adoring sisters, it’s Twinkle and Sparkle. These  adorable girls came to us when their mother, Whispurr, got out of her former home for a few weeks and became pregnant. Whispurr had three kittens, and soon afterwards, their owner surrendered Twinkle and Sparkle to us with their blind mom, Whispurr. These cuties are are very affectionate and playful, but as they are a bit shy, they don’t show their true personalities when they go to adoption events,. Once in their forever home, it will take a little while to warm up, but once they do, they have so much love to give! Because they are bonded, they must be adopted together. and would do best in a quiet, mid to low level activity home with adults and/or older kids.Twinkle and Sparkle are dewormed, spayed, have their FVRCP and rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. You won't need to spend money to reregister them evey year - it's done for you! Twinkle and Sparkle, like all bonded pairs over 6 months of age, are adopt 1, get 1 free! Story
Meet Blue! Blue is a beautiful, petite Russia Blue mix girl, just a year old. Because she is a Russian Blue mix, she is hypoallergenic. She was found by herself in a Culpeper neighborhood. She may've been dumped there because neighbors say she just appeared one day  and no one reported her missing at the shelter. Blue is a little girl that is just full of personality! She likes to talk to you in short little chatty meows. She is very playful, affectionate, and spunky, and enjoys affection and being pet. She is great with kids (not toddlers as they tend to be too active) and slept in bed with the children at her foster home.Blue is rady to go home with an approved application and would do well in most any home, as she gets along with everyone. She is dewormed, spayed, had her FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Adopt Blue and, as Elvis used to say, have a BLUE Christmas! Story
Meet Johnny Panther! Panther is a gorgeously handsome Russian Blue/bobtail mix, about 2 years old. This sweet boy has been in foster care since August when he was found peering into a home, trying to get inside. We believe he was dumped in a rural area as no one contacted to the shelter to say they were missing him, despite him being outside the home for months..Panther is so loving and affectionate and will wrap his world around you. He is very people oriented and, while in his 1st foster home, seemed to get sullen when not with other cats  so he was moved to another foster home where he could be with other cats and receive more lovin'. While there, he met his BFF, Ledger. Ledger is a 5 month old kitten (also in care) and the 2 immediately bonded. They do everything together - eat together, play together, sleep together, and even pose elegantly for photos! They need to be adopted together. Johnny needed a friend and Ledger needed someone to look up to. Ledger makes Johnny feel good about himself. They complete each other. There is a $55 discount on bonded pairs. Both boys are ready to go home with an approved application. They would do best in a quiet, moderate activity home with a human(s), or a family with cat friendly kids over the age of 5 years old. They are dewormed, neutered, vaccinated with FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. You won't need to pay to reregister every year - we've done it for you. Please consider adding these sweet boys to your family. You won't regret it! Story
Meet Dakota and Slate!  These girls came to us from a local shelter when their family" moved and left them behind to fend for themselves. Suddenly after being fed kibble in a bowl, they now had to eat from trash cans or learn to hunt; after being inside a warm home, they now had to stay warm, find shelter, and learn about the not-so-friendly life on the streets. After some time, they were found by a Good Samaritan and taken to a shelter. There they stayed - each in their own cage - since December 2023 - 11 months -  and they were not able to comfort each other because they were in separate cages (every shelter's policy). Sadly, because they had been in the shelter for so long and the shelter was now at capacity, they were in the top 3 to be euthanized, so Forgotten Felines quickly took them into care.(The cat at the top of the list was also pulled and is now in her forever home!)Once in their foster home, they were excited to see each other again after being separated for so  long. They immediately snuggled together and groomed each other and have been inseparable since..These girls are bonded and must be adopted together. (We have a special - adopt 1, get 1 free!)Dakota is a beautiful, long haired white and gray beauty, just 3 years old. She is friendly an enjoys being pet and loved on. She adapts fairly quickly to people and enjoys taking naps in front of a sunny window. Slate is a beautiful Russian Blue, also 3 years old. Slate also warms up fairly quickly and enjoys being pet, sunny windows, and naps. They were found together and are bonded, after being through so much together. In their letter to Santa they wrote that they are happy for the gift of being together again and they are dreaming of being part of a loving family. Their perfect family would be a quiet, low activity home with a human or humans with with or without cat-friendly kids over the age of 10 years old. Both girls are ready to go home with an approved application. They are dewormed, spayed, are up to date on their FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. Please consider meeting them and giving them  home. They have been through so much in their young lives already. Contact us at GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420November 11, 2024, 11:45 am
