Story
Hi, I'm Jack and I love to climb beanstalks. OK, it's a cat tower. But I can pretend, right? From my castle I can hang out with other cats, get a better view of the room, or just chill. For a kitten, I'm pretty mellow.
Of course , if every dog has his day then every kitten wants to play. And that's me, too. l'm a Russian Blue mix who loves playing with my foster mom. I would also enjoy playing with other cats, but I'm respectful of elderly felines and try not to pester them. So in my foster home I make due with mouse toys. Few things in life are as satisfying as tossing a catnip mouse in the air and pouncing on it. Bliss! Just don't get me any automated toys. Those things are creepy!
Worried you won't know what I like? Think again. I'm a vocal cutie whose green eyes sparkle whenever I meow or trill. Foster Mom and I have whole conversations together. She gets me. When I want attention or need to be fed, she understands. I bet you will too. Best of all, when I get what I want, I purr a lot. I've got a rumbly purr, which I deploy often when I am picked up, held, or lying in your lap being petted. Great, right there, behind the ears. Purr-fect!
Of course, like any self respecting feline I am also independent. I enjoy attention, but am not clingy. I won't follow you from room to room during the day. But at bedtime don't be surprised if I jump in with you for a snuggle.
I know I'd be a good companion for someone of any age, whether living alone, with other cats or with children. I'm even litter box trained, which can't be said for humans my age.
Too Good to be true? Well maybe. Just as the human, Jack, in the fairytale had to deal with a giant, I also have an issue. My condition is called FIV+. What that means is that I am immunocompromised. Despite this, I can still live a long, happy life. But FIV+ means that I should be kept indoors in a clean, stress free environment, fed a healthy diet and taken to the vet twice a year. Also at any sign of sickness you should take me to the vet quickly. Oh gosh, the vet's, not my favorite place. But because I'm FIV+, it's possible that I might need longer or more aggressive care than other cats.
However, just because I have special needs doesn't mean I don't have the right to a Forever Home. That's my dream. For me, adoption would be better than when the human Jack found treasure in the giant's lair. You see, riches aren't always material. Sometimes you can strike it rich just by finding the right companion to love.
So please don't just stand around. Apply to adopt me today!
