Russian Blue kittens & cats in Live Oak, Texas

His name is Forrest and he is a 5-6 year old male Russian Blue, maybe a mix, who was adopted from a local shelter as a kitten. In April or May, his owner brought him in to Town and Country Veterinary Hospital (I am the Medical Director there). The family had a child and no longer wanted Forrest. Forrest is also microchipped. Forrest has no medical issues (I examined him and have his past medical records). He apparently lived with at least one other cat in the home and has liked every human and teenager I have introduced him to. We have not tried other toddlers but can if we need to, and can also check his reaction to dogs. I can't remember if the owner had dogs or not. He is living at Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital until we can find a placement for him. Russian Blues are not hypoallergenic. They are very clean cats. If you have been diagnosed as having cat allergies, you are allergic to ALL cats. If you just have random allergies, a Russian Blue will work.     Forrest is a handsome guy who was born in 2019 and originally adopted as a kitten. But his family recently brought him into a vet clinic to be euthanized because he did not get along with their toddler. Thankfully, the vet convinced them to surrender him instead. Forrest is a very sweet and loving cat with no medical issues, is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and is good with other cats. We're not sure what the toddler was like, but Forrest has liked every person and teenager he's interacted with since he was surrendered. He is now living at the Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital until he finds a new home to give him a second chance. It really seems like whatever Forrest went through was not his fault. The vet staff currently caring for him are even willing to throw in a year's supply of Revolution plus to whomever adopts him!
