Story
Paris is a cute short-haired Russian blue mix female 5-6 months old (DOB about 4/15/24).  She LOVES everyone as soon as she meets them.  She is VERY playful and active.  She loves to play with toys or other cats and is never bored.  She gets along well with other cats, and we think she'd be great with dogs and kids.  She's negative for feline leukemia and aids, had all three distemper and the rabies vaccines, been wormed, had advantage for fleas, been vet checked, microchipped, and spayed.  Preference will be given to adopters who have a young playmate/companion for the kitten.  We typically do not adopt kittens less than 6 months old to homes where they will be a solo pet.   If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net.       We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.November 3, 2024, 5:50 pm

Story
Gilly and Gabby are gorgeous short-haired Russian Blue mix female littermates about 14-16 weeks old (DOB about 7/15/24).  Gilly is a sweet little kitten who loves to run around exploring and playing.   ideal match would most likely be a household with lots of time available to shower her with affection and cuddles, and with other pets that she can spend time playing with and burning off her excess energy.  Gilly enjoys pets, snuggles, and playing with laser toys.  Gabby is inquisitive about everything, spending lots of time exploring her environment and looking out windows. Gabby loves finding new high vantage points to rest and watch everything going on around her.  Gabby also likes to initiate play and loves playing with her brothers and sisters.  They live and get along well with other cats and respectful dogs.  They LOVE everyone as soon as they meet them.  They are VERY playful and active.  They love to play with toys or other cats and are never bored.  They like to be held and to snuggle.  They get along well with cats and dogs, and we think they will be great with kids.  They are negative for feline leukemia and aids, had two distemper vaccines, been wormed, had advantage for fleas, and been vet checked and spayed or neutered.  Additional vaccines (third distemper and rabies) included in the adoption fee.  Preference will be given to local adopters willing to adopt them as a pair, or to adopters who have a young-ish playmate companion for the kitten. We do not adopt kittens less than 6 months old to homes where they will be a solo pet.  May be adopted separately or as a pair (discount for two!)  If interested in these cutie pies, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net  We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hello, world! My name is Mystic, and let me tell you—I’m ready to bring a little magic into your life! I’ve had quite the journey already. My last humans tried to sneak me into an apartment where pets weren’t allowed, and I almost ended up on the streets. But I’m not giving up on finding a real home—a stable, loving one where I can finally feel safe. I may be small, but I’ve got a big personality! I’m sweet and loving, but don’t be fooled—I’ve got a playful, sassy side too. Whether it’s batting at toys or zooming around with a burst of energy, I’m always up for some fun! I love attention (seriously, I can’t get enough). I'd love to have a kitty or doggie friend. Since I’m still young, I could get used to dogs if needed—though you’d better believe I’ll make sure I’m the star of the show! I’d also do great with older kids who know how to play with me and keep up with my energy. If you’re looking for a little enchantment in your life, I’m ready to cast my spell on you! I promise to fill your home with love, laughter, and just a dash of kitten mischief. Purrs and whisker kisses,Mystic If you would like to meet your new best friend(s), contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 14, 2024, 4:12 pm

Not good with cats,
Story
Grey Cat was rescued during TNR. We originally thought she was feral, but discovered she actually likes pets! She will get in bed with you & make the greatest biscuits. She likes to follow her foster around & also play in her water dish. She was originally hissing & we discovered she is just afraid or does not like other cats. She needs to be the only cat to make her life happy.
