Story
Gimlet is a lovable, playful, outdoor enthusiast. He will do best in a home with an experienced cat owner who does not have any other pets or young children. He's had behavioral issues with marking in our home due to moving in with a family member who had another cat. Over the last four years we have tried pheromones, extra stimulation, anti-anxiety meds, indoor/outdoor, and now Gimlet is strictly outdoor at our home. We built him an outdoor enclosure for the winter, but I think finding a new home for him is the best solution. He doesn't have any other health issues otherwise, is up to date on his shots, and has his claws intact.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Bella is a loving and loyal companion who likes to navigate her surroundings on her own terms. While she may not always be out and about, she enjoys spending evenings by your side and curling up next to your pillow at night. She has always been a timid soul. When she was adopted from the Humane Society, they placed her in their "timid kitty" program, as she was originally found as a stray. Despite her early days outdoors, Bella has fully embraced indoor life and all its comforts. She has a thick, beautiful coat and, once she trusts you, will even enjoy being groomed. Bella is a healthy, good eater and drinker—though she would prefer to skip vet visits entirely! For most of her estimated 10 years, she lived in a quiet home with a single woman in her 60s. She formed a deep bond with her person but remains wary of others. Her ideal home would be with a single woman over 50, though she may adjust to a multi-person household or even a male owner—this just hasn’t been tested. One thing we do know: Bella cannot live with other cats. She has been attacked multiple times in the past, and she simply does not tolerate feline roommates. However, she might be okay with calm, disinterested dogs. Our two senior pups don’t bother with her, and she mostly responds with a hiss but nothing more. Though independent, Bella craves connection. She enjoys perching beside her person, just as she did every night with my mother-in-law before coming to us. She used to sleep in bed with her, though we haven’t given her that opportunity here. She’s even been known to sit on one side of me on the couch while a dog rests on the other! Since arriving in our home eight months ago, Bella has become more affectionate. She now lets me pick her up and hold her—something she never allowed at first. She will even reach out and gently tap us when she wants attention. She loves playing in a tunnel where she can hide and enjoys a few small toys, all of which will go with her to ease her transition into a new home. One of Bella’s most endearing traits? She talks! If I meow at her, she meows back, and we can have full conversations that way. She is a truly special girl—independent, loyal, and, did I mention independent? Bella is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. Could you be the one to give her that? Bella is from an owner surrender.
