Story
Meet Blue! This handsome hunk is a totally easy-going, friendly, affectionate lovebug! He’s extra special because he had a surgery that you can read about below. He’s currently residing with our friends at Dry Creek Veterinary Hospital in Roseville so you’re welcome to contact us or them if you are interested in learning more about Blue! He’s only 6 years old, perfectly well mannered and would be an awesome companion cat to someone! He had a perineal urethrostomy surgery and will likely need to be on special urinary crystal food, but you can talk to his veterinarian foster mom about that. It is a very manageable condition & the surgery will likely be a lifetime success. Read about it here: Male cats develop urinary obstructions much more readily than female cats due to differences in urinary tract anatomy between the two sexes. While the female urethra is relatively short and maintains a consistent diameter as it travels from the bladder to its external opening, the male urethra is slightly longer and, more importantly, it narrows as it enters the penis. This narrowing of the urethra predisposes males to urinary obstructions in which the urethra becomes blocked by stones, blood clots, mucus, or tumors. A perineal urethrostomy creates a new urinary opening that decreases the length of the urethra and allows urine to bypass this narrowed region. This surgery can decrease the likelihood of recurring obstruction. He is neutered & vaccinated, etc. This is a COURTESY POSTING for our veterinarian- Mission Meow makes no guarantees regarding the vetting, health or temperament of this cat however you are welcome to contact us to ask any questions. Occasionally we assist member of the community with cats they have found. If you fill out an application, we can help assist you find a purrfect fit for your family, even if we refer you to outside of our rescue.

Story
Courtesy Listings Contact: (916) 939-3418 Clooney is “the perfect cat.” He is extremely handsome; quiet; well-behaved; and doesn’t ask for much. He likes to just “hang out”: sit on the sofa or comfy-chair, and watch what’s going on. He gets along with other cats, but doesn’t particularly care for most of them. Clooney likes to just be a cat. He will come and sit with you when he feels like it. Otherwise, he’ll just hang out by himself. It takes him a while to warm up to a person but when he does, he's such a sweet guy. He’s subtle – give him time. Once you get to know him, you’ll love him. He likes dry kibble as much, if not more, than wet food. He is generally given Fancy Feast or Friskies wet food, and has received several different types of dry food and Churros treats. One critical thing to know--he will ONLY use (traditional) unscented clumping litter like “Dr. Elsey’s.” He doesn’t know what to do with pellet litter, or with any of the new fancy types of litter. So long as you just use regular clumping litter there are no problems at all. (And he’s a very tidy cat – he keeps himself clean and well groomed.) But he really has a problem with non-traditional litters, and won’t use the box if that’s what’s in it. Other than that, he’s the perfect cat. Please contact Fat Kitty City at (916) 939-3418.
