Story
Meet Blue! This handsome hunk is a totally easy-going, friendly, affectionate lovebug! He’s extra special because he had a surgery that you can read about below. He’s currently residing with our friends at Dry Creek Veterinary Hospital in Roseville so you’re welcome to contact us or them if you are interested in learning more about Blue! He’s only 6 years old, perfectly well mannered and would be an awesome companion cat to someone! He had a perineal urethrostomy surgery and will likely need to be on special urinary crystal food, but you can talk to his veterinarian foster mom about that. It is a very manageable condition & the surgery will likely be a lifetime success. Read about it here: Male cats develop urinary obstructions much more readily than female cats due to differences in urinary tract anatomy between the two sexes. While the female urethra is relatively short and maintains a consistent diameter as it travels from the bladder to its external opening, the male urethra is slightly longer and, more importantly, it narrows as it enters the penis. This narrowing of the urethra predisposes males to urinary obstructions in which the urethra becomes blocked by stones, blood clots, mucus, or tumors. A perineal urethrostomy creates a new urinary opening that decreases the length of the urethra and allows urine to bypass this narrowed region. This surgery can decrease the likelihood of recurring obstruction. He is neutered & vaccinated, etc. This is a COURTESY POSTING for our veterinarian- Mission Meow makes no guarantees regarding the vetting, health or temperament of this cat however you are welcome to contact us to ask any questions. Occasionally we assist member of the community with cats they have found. If you fill out an application, we can help assist you find a purrfect fit for your family, even if we refer you to outside of our rescue.

Story
My father recently had a massive stroke and will not be home to care for Mouse and unfortunately we can not care for her at this time. We are looking to rehome Mouse. She is a very sweet cat, loves her pal Daisy who was a poodle, she loves her toys and at her age still enjoys playing. She loves to be brushed, petted and loves attention. This has been such a sad time for decision making and it breaks our heart that We need Mouse to find a new home. My husband and I have two dogs who do not care for cats unfortunately.
