Story
We are looking for a great single cat home for Theo a young handsome FIV + positive cat that has no symptoms. He has been thoroughly vetted this week and is ready for someone to love. Nice personality, indoor home of course required, another FIV buddy in home would be great! Please me if you are familiar/interested please contact us at mbruce8@shaw.ca Foster Mum reports he's a really cool dude. Big, bold, and thick. Theo has had foster mums dog wander through, and he displayed no response. He's just a fantastic guy seeking his forever home. Very, very clean and quiet in his foster home. Should you be interested in Theo please review the process and policies of adoption at cowichancatrescue.org then submit your application-- better make it snappy, a hunk like me won't be on the market long! I can't wait to find you..... meow...~ Theo~

Story
According to the vet clinic Menzies Pet Hospital in Chilliwack, (xxx) xxx-xxxx Toah is 10 years old, in 2024. They list him as Korhe Blue, last vaccines were in 2019. Tattoo in his right ear. He needs a special kind of person who needs him. He was my friend's emotional support cat until he died in 2020. He was always the only pet. We were next door neighbors too. Toah played in my yard so made friends with my small emotional support dog. He has always been afraid of all other dogs. He did ok with other cats outside but not in his house or yard. I love Toah but he still isn't happy with me and my dog. He loves us but he needs to have the bond of being the emotional support cat and periodically gets jealous of my dog and is so unhappy. He doesn't hurt her but he is bigger and he will get between me and her, block the water dish or the hallway etc. Asking for what I can't give him. He needs his job back. He is looking for someone so will bond easily to someone who needs a best friend.

Story
FOR ADOPTION: JAY is a very cuddly 2 year old male looking for his special forever family. Jay comes to us with a large group of cats that were abandoned at a well known home in the Smithers area. After kind locals took in the many of the bolder and more friendly cats NWAS came and got the rest. Although scared on intake Jay was very fast to come around and quickly became on the cuddliest cats we currently have at the shelter. Jay loves to climb into our arms for snuggles and pets and has a fun playful side. He was obviously a well loved pet at one point in His life and we would like to get him back to being one again. Jay came to us with a major upper respiratory infection that has been treated but, due to being unvaccinated previously, he does have feline herpes virus that will raise its ugly, eye watering head when he goes through periods of stress or low immunity. We have Jay on an inexpensive immune system booster to help keep him as his healthiest self. Jay is great with other cats but will need to live with fully vaccinated cats so he cannot pass along the feline herpes virus. Jay is quite comfortable with respectful children and would make a great family cat in a home with older kids (he does occasionally give love bites that little ones may not appreciate). He’s had minimal interactions with dogs but could live with a calm and gentle one. He could be very happy indoor only with lots of cuddle time or Jay could enjoy catio life. He could also be indoor/outdoor in the right environment. He is neutered, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. If you’ve been looking for a confident cuddle bug apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet JAY #NWASJay

Story
FOR ADOPTION: DOVE is a beautiful approximately 1 year old female that comes to us from a well know abandoned home in the Smithers area. Kind locals were able to take in the bolder and more confident cats from this large group and NWAS took in the remaining cats once we had room. Dove was one of the most timid and reserved of the group when she arrived at the shelter and she is still a fairly quiet and shy girl. Despite her fear, Dove has always been gentle and kind. We’ve put her on a calming supplement that has helped her relax into her life at the shelter and Dove is now a girl that appreciates gentle head scratches and soft cozy blankets. She is looking for a quiet, mature family that will be able to give her the patience and understanding she needs to blossom into her full self. Dove would do very well with a confident and affectionate feline friend to help show her the ropes in her new environment. Dove has had very limited interactions with dogs so far. She could learn to live with a calm dog that is indifferent towards cats but she would be just as happy without them in her life. Due to Dove’s timid nature she is looking for an indoor only home. She is spayed, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. If you’ve been looking for a shy girl to bring out of her shell, apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet DOVE. #NWASDove
