Story
Jax is a handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with a heart full of love and a bit of shyness that makes him uniquely endearing. At first glance, Jax may appear reserved, especially around unfamiliar faces or in new environments. While he’s not one to rush into social situations, his friendly nature shines through once he feels comfortable. With time, patience, and a little encouragement, Jax warms up to new people and situations, showing off his playful side and eagerness for affection. Jax enjoys outdoor activities like walks or playing in the yard, though he might need a moment to settle into new surroundings before fully engaging. His calm demeanor makes him an ideal companion for a relaxed home.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Quartz was found as a stray and not claimed. She has been incredibly skinny since intake and is receiving twice a day feedings, although she does not finish a meal usually. Her fosters made a note that she doesn't really eat her dry food unless it is mixed in with wet food. Her previous name was "Shenzi" which she does respond to. She does resource guard her food with the other dogs near her kennel. She has done okay with dogs in passing in a calmer setting, but has been dog reactive at the shelter. She is a very sweet lady and is very high energy. She knows "sit" and "shake." She is housetrained and did fine being left out in her foster home(any countertop food should be put above her reach). She will tear her way out of a crate if she is left unsupervised in one. She loves going on car rides and being able to stick her head out of the window. She loves being outside with her people, but if left unattended she will jump a fence. Her fosters said that she never barked while she was with them. Quartz would do best in an only pet home. Quartz loves cuddles. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative (also on prevention). All adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. ECHS does not reserve available animals for the public for any reason. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Cinnamon is a sweet and loyal girl looking for a patient and understanding forever home. While she may be wary of new people, she shines outside of a home setting and loves going for walks. This protective pup values her people and space, which may lead to some aggression when introduced to new faces at home. She was found running after people on bikes, so a secure fence is a must for her safety. Although originally uncomfortable with crates, Cinnamon now sees them as a safe space during times of anxiety and does well being left in one. Her most recent foster said she seemed to be housebroken and did well when left loose by herself inside. Once she warms up to you, Cinnamon will greet you with a tail wag and become a loyal companion. However, she's terrified of storms and may need extra reassurance during rough weather. Cinnamon would benefit from a home willing to work with her and possibly seek the guidance of a trainer to help her thrive. Spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm-negative, and microchipped, Cinnamon is ready to embark on a new chapter in a loving and patient home.

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lady Bird was surrendered because she does not do well when left by herself. She is good with other dogs, kids, and strangers. She cannot live with cats or livestock. She is not fully housetrained but is very smart and should pick up potty training pretty fast. She is an energetic dog breed that will need an outlet for her energy, either through a big yard or someone that is willing to take her for long walks. Her previous owner said she loves playing fetch. Bird absolutely loves the water, but can be overzealous with a pool. The hose is her favorite play toy when staff are cleaning the outdoor kennels. She walks well on a leash, rides well in a car, and does know basic commands. Lady Bird is spayed, vaccinated with DHPP and Bordetella, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. Lady Bird is due for a rabies vaccination. Lady Bird does need to put on some groceries, but hopefully will be at a healthier weight soon.
