Story
Meet Reeko - read what his foster mom has to say about him.  Reeko came from a Logan's Heroes shelter partner in Alabama. He was adopted last summer and is now back, to no fault of his own. His estimated date of birth is November 11th, 2022. Reeko appears to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback with possibly some border collie and boxer. He has a pretty cool "ridge" on his neck and part of his head. He is about 55 pounds, and at this point, is full-grown. Reeko is an energetic and intelligent dog who would do best with an active person or family who is willing to exercise him mentally and physically. He loves hikes and would make an amazing adventure partner. Reeko currently has a fenced-in yard at his foster home, but he was trained with an invisible fence. He will need either a fenced yard or an invisible fence as he is very used to being able to run in and out as he pleases, get some energy out, and use the bathroom off leash. Reeko is crate-trained, leash-trained, and house-broken. His crate is his safe area and he has no problems with sleeping in it overnight. He is crated when left alone but he does not show any signs of being destructive and does not have issues with separation anxiety. He is very well-behaved in the home and eager to please. He knows a variety of tricks and would make a great dog for someone looking to enroll in various dog sports and activities. Unfortunately, Reeko was not very well socialized with strangers for the majority of his life, so he can be anxious around new people, but will warm up with time and patience. He barks at strangers and is very on edge. New people interactions need to be very slow in order to allow him to process. Reeko does not tend to bark at people in public areas. He focuses on his foster mom and does not react to outside stimuli. We do not allow strangers to pet or approach Reeko in public to make sure that he feels safe and confident in his surroundings. At home, Reeko has the tendency to try to herd unwanted guests out of his space. He is working on correcting that in his foster home and is responding well. Reeko has shown some resource guarding tendencies with objects he finds high value. He is very hit or miss with this, does not happen often, but he occasionally will growl if he claims something as his. He will respond to a correction and has never gone further than a growl. He has been tossed around so much in his short life that he is very confused about what is right and wrong. As he grows comfortable in his foster home, and with some help from a professional trainer, this bad habit seems to have improved. Any potential adopter will need to be aware that Reeko will likely need more follow-up training in his new home in order to adjust properly. Reeko is somewhat selective over new dogs in his life. He tends to prefer male dogs smaller than him or any female dog but does seem to warm up to any dog after a proper introduction. He is very playful with energetic dogs but will respect an older dog that is not interested in playing. Reeko has not been around cats in the home. He is exposed to an outdoor cat at his foster home but he does not pay him any attention. No small children for Reeko, dog savvy kids 12 and up is a requirement for him. Because of the likelihood of past trauma and his breed characteristics, he would thrive with an experienced dog owner and would not be a good fit for a first-time dog family. Rhodesian ridgeback experience is a big plus. Once comfortable, Reeko is very affectionate and absolutely adores belly rubs, snuggling, and has a very playful, goofy personality. He has so much love to give and will be an amazing, loyal companion for someone who is willing to work with him. Reeko is neutered, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $50.00. If you are interested in adopting Reeko, please visit our website www.LHARinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Say hello to our lovely ROO. She’s a Beauty Queen! The paparazzi would make billions on capturing her photos to be featured on the cover of Dog Fancy magazine for her mesmerizing beauty. She’s a 1.5-year-old sweet Rhodesian Ridgeback/Hound beauty who loves you with every ounce of her being and more because she LOVES everyone. She is such a friendly, welcoming young lady who gets so excited to spend time with you. Roo enjoys her walks and sniffing around the farm with her nose to the ground during her walks, just like a typical Hound, but most of all, she enjoys her time with her friends and soaking up all your attention the best. Roo is a social girl who sees beauty in everything. Roo is not a fan of kennel life (at all!) and would really love to be in a home with a family who would include her with fun adventures and quality family time. She loves having dog friends in her life too. Roo is a very loyal, loving, affectionate, sociable, dog friendly, silly, happy-go-lucky, sweet, intelligent, inquisitive girl who is just craving love from a family of her very own. How about you fill your hearts (and Roo’s) with adventures and friendship and adopt ROO!   ** Please email Adoptions@LaManchaAnimalRescue.org to meet ROO. *********** 1.5 years old. Story
Meet Andy: Andy is a 14 week old (as of June 13, 2024) Rhodesian Ridgeback mix (best guess) that weighs 23 pounds. Andy was found in an abandoned building being torn down in Mississippi. Andy is now safe and is currently being fostered in the south and would love to catch the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Andy is adorable! Andy plays well with dogs and likes cats. Andy is a great listener and obeys commands well! As a puppy, Andy will need some patience while he works on his house training. We would love for Andy to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely! Andy is up to date on his puppy shots and already neutered. If you are interested in adding this good boy into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. ##2081015##

Story
Lacey is a pretty young, 2 year old, 50 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback mix girl that lived the first years of life on a chain outside in a man’s backyard.  She has had a few litters of pups and PREFERS to be the only queen of the house.  Being always chained, many dogs have a defensive attitude of being jumped on and often prefer to be the only pet in the home.  She is very sweet and loving and adores meeting new people and making friends.  She loves men especially and is gentle with children.  She is so very calm and easy going around the house.  She is not a fan of the crate because it is new to her.   She was never crated until now.  She doesn’t seem to be destructive at all in the house.  She loves sleeping on the bed at night and will sleep right next to you.  She has been in HEAVEN because she has never had the inside comforts of a home.  This smart girl can be taught so many things.  Please consider giving her a comfy and loving home and the life she deserves.  She is ready now!  She is housebroken and loves car rides and can travel to a new home anywhere.  If you want a well rounded and easy dog, you really need to pick Lacey!!!   Email Critter Cavalry Rescue and ask for an application to adopt.   Email:  ccrtennessee@gmail.com  She is ready to pack her bags and head fast as lightning to a new dog bed and people who will treat her like a Queen. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 5, 2024, 11:37 pm
