This is Huncho. He's only 17 weeks old but he is just the sweetest and smartest boy. We adopted him from the local animal shelter in Raleigh, NC around 10 weeks old. Since then he has been house-trained, knows how to sit, stay and come and loves to play. He is full of energy, typical for a puppy, but as long as you take him on walks or let him run around he will fall right asleep. He truly is the sweetest boy and loves to cuddle and play with his toys. He has been loving the dog park, exploring the new environment, meeting new dogs, and going on walks. We are looking for an owner(s) who is able to put in the time to train and love him. He deserves a loving home that is able to watch him grow. We will miss this sweet boy and are so sad we have to leave him. We will provide the crate, toys, bed, shampoo, treats, leash, and leftover food once adopted.

Timone is a mature 5 year old-with a beautiful caramel coat-standing tall-reminding you of the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed. He is in good physical condition at 77 pounds, knows sit, takes treats with a gentle mouth, and has very good leash manners. He has no reactivity walking in or out of the kennels past the other dogs, but he will sometimes bark at others when outside. He is most comfortable in his kennel, sitting quietly, waiting for his turn to go out for a walk and potty. Timone has a very gentle spirit--he is a mature, beautiful dog, who would love to go home with his family. One of our volunteers took him home for a day to give him a break from the shelter. According to them, he was the ideal work from home buddy! He was calm and didn't make a peep when they were working. He was also very respectful, he never jumped on them, and being potty trained made it a breeze. He does look for something to chew on immediately so it is important that when he finds his next home that they have proper toys for dogs who love to chew. Timone also went for a 2 mile hike and was an amazing walking buddy. He's easy to walk and very responsive to his human; he waited patiently for joggers and bikers to pass. He even saw a few squirrels and kept a respectful distance. Timone is unsure of the car but rides well once inside.During playgroups, Timone performed like a silly wild bronco bucking around for fun. He was delighted to engage with another female and bounce around with her. Timone appropriately provided a correction to her when she was a little overzealous. He truly seemed to enjoy himself. We found this girl in the middle of the road in our county and didn’t have the heart to leave her be. She is very friendly and loves love. We believe she is between 6-8 months old. She was malnourished when we brought her home. We held her for the minimum stray hold required by our county, have posted flyers in the surrounding areas, and have also posted her in lost pet communities on Facebook with no luck. We cannot keep her, as we have five dogs and a cat already, but we are willing to foster until a new home is found. I am willing to travel within a reasonable distance if necessary. She is very sweet, almost potty trained, but will need additional training.

This precious pup was found on the side of a busy road when he was 6-8 week old (vet estimation). The tip of his right ear was torn up and he had several large ticks on him. He has since been well loved, neutered, microchipped and his vaccines are up to date. He is now 7 (ish) months old. Bear is a deeply affectionate, high energy, large mix breed canine who thinks he’s a lap dog and loves snuggling. He has been living in a home with another dog, two cats and three young children. He gets along well with kids and with other dogs (although he is still a very excitable and vocal puppy). He is super smart, house trained and has been in puppy preschool with additional training but would benefit going to a home where he can continue his training with consistency and dedication. Following Hurricane Helene we are sadly, finding it necessary to find him a forever home. Bear is very much a companion dog and deserves someone who can devote their time and attention to him.

My name is Riley. I am a large sized, laid back and curious fella. I came to the shelter after my previous owner passed away. Staff was told that I am leash trained, crate trained and enjoy chew toys. I have done well around other animals before but staff still recommends slow and monitored introductions to any new animals in the home. I can sometimes be nervous meeting new people so please be patient with me as I adjust to my new home. Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you`ll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. I hope to meet you and become your pal :)
