For questions about Lucy Lu, please contact nanza13@msn.com Lucy Lu wants nothing more than to be your best friend for life! This 2-year-old girl is sweet and playful. She loves digging up sticks, playing fetch, and having the "zoomies". She promises to always greet you excitedly like you're her favorite person in the world (because you will be!). Expect full-body wiggles, tail wags, and lots of kisses. Lucy Lu is also super smart and will gladly show off her tricks for a treat or some words of praise. She has impeccable house manners and is the perfect mix of chill and fun! Lucy Lu would do best in a quiet home with a fenced yard and without cats or small animals (she has a hard time telling the difference between a cat and a squirrel). Lucy Lu loves to play with other dogs and is more confident and comfortable in new situations if she has a doggy friend with her. She would love a dog sibling who likes to play and run as much as she does! Her ideal forever family is patient and understands she needs a bit of time to get used to new things and new people, but that once she does, you are in her heart forever.

Story
Bullet is 2 and a half years old. Purebred. We got him from a breeder (have AKC paperwork) when I had found out I was pregnant with our second. Now, just having our third, it has become too much to give him the attention he needs, and deserves. We did not have any experience w/ the breed prior to getting him. What I've learned about breed is stubbornness. We sent him off for a 2 week training course when he was 1, but no matter what- if there is food on the counter and you are not around- he will get it (in our experience). He is very set in his ways. Unfortunately, with my husband traveling so much for work, and me with our three young kids, I think its best for both Bullet and our family if he we can find him a family who can devote a lot of attention to him. I think the ideal family would have a lot of land for him to run and their time to give. He is all bark, which has been great when my husband is out of town, but he is afraid of most things, especially loud sounds.

Story
Esme is a simple girl that came to our attention at Critter Cavalry Rescue as she struggled to find a place to raise her 7 puppies that she birthed.  The odds were stacked but she managed to bring 3 of the 7 puppies through to the place that they could be adopted during the coming weeks.  This girl is 2 years old, weighs 35 pounds and has a sleek, beautiful demeanor that speaks to everyone she meets with a kindness and courage.  Esme is learning how to enjoy the niceties of being an inside dog as she has raised her puppies.  She is housebroken, crate trained and is good with all the other dogs and cats at the foster home.  She is around young active children (boys) and she keeps her calm demeanor through all the activities of the children. She loves people so much and just to be with someone.  She is food motivated and very bright and can learn so much if you use the treat method to win her attention and desire to learn a trick or commands. She is a great medium energy girl that is ready to chase a toy or ball but has not gotten the memo on how to bring it back to the person who threw it. She is wonderful on a leash and has a slight playful side to her. This pretty girl is really not big at all and on the smaller side of a Lab and she demands little from life or her people.  We are wanting the sun, moon and stars for her future with a new family. Could you give that to her?  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
We would like to introduce a very special rescue dog to all of you and her name is Pretty Pearl.  Her foster mom says that she has been through fire and back and now she has the character of beautiful PEARL, like in an oyster.  She has  been formed by adversity and yet her spirit is pure sweetness and love.  She has the markings and coloring of a Catahoula mixed with maybe a little Beagle which is what makes her all the more loving and easy going.  At about 5-6 years old and just a perfect medium size at just 40 pounds, she is the perfect companion to someone who lives in a smaller environment like an apartment or a townhouse. She truly has an endearing calmness and mellow approach to life and all the people around her notices this unique quality immediately.  Nothing ruffles her feathers at all.  I take it all in stride and just smooth the edges if needed and keep on going.  This girl is the perfect companion to someone that is in an apartment environment or a townhouse.  She is small, a couch potatoe that will most certainly be an outstanding companion during the winter months when life seems to slow down and cozy companionship is most desired and welcomed.  She was found living outside in horrible conditions and was full of ticks and fleas and very skinny.  Well soon she was introduced to the luxury of an inside lifestyle at her foster home and she has NEVER looked back.  She goes outside to do her potty breaks and rushes right back inside to keep her human fosters company.  Now, if you are outside with her then all is grand.  She is a skilled girl on a leash and if you want a hiking or walking buddy then Pearl is ready to go!   She has had NO accidents in the house since coming to the foster home.  Amazing statistics for a dog that lived outside all her life.  Maybe she truly just feels like being called “Queen” Pearl now.  She sure is being treated like a queen and she wants to stay in that kind of lifestyle.  We think Pretty Pearl will be a wonderful well-kept secret for someone looking for the best companion ever in the world. Pretty Pearl will be the best dog you have ever owned in your life. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com You won’t regret adopting this girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 13, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet, sweet boy ISO forever! LEANDRO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Leandro         Best Guess for Breed: Black mouth cur and shepherd mix    Best Guess for Age:  1 year 5 months as of July 2024        SEX:  Male    Approximate Weight: 60 lbs   Gets Along With:  Leandro lives with another dog in his Texas shelter foster home and is great with the dog and other dogs he meets! He hasn't been seen with kids or cats but can be tested   Currently Living at:  Texas shelter foster home; hoping to land a foster or forever home in the DC area!   Special adoption considerations:  Because Leandro spent so much of his young life in the shelter - over a year - he was pretty timid and scared when he arrived in his Texas shelter foster home. He has been making great strides, though! Right now, we think Leandro will do best in a home where he has opportunities to interact with other dogs - a home with a welcoming resident dog, doggie day care, doggie playdates, etc.  All about Leandro, from his Texas shelter foster: Leandro's shelter foster cannot believe he spent over a year in the shelter - he is just such a great dog, Unfortunately, the number of dogs in his far south Texas location massively dwarfs the number of available homes - and the only way Leandro can get a forever home is by getting to the DC area.   His shelter foster says he is still timid right now but incredibly sweet. He is very affectionate, coming over to his humans to ask for pets and under the chin rubs all the time. He loves the resident dog and isn't reactive towards all the other dogs he meets - on leash, neighbors' dogs, etc.   He loves treats, he LOVES all toys, and he loves lounging with his humans - he's pretty chill.   He has his own crate where he gets treats and food. He goes in willingly and likes hanging out there with the door open. The fosters haven't tried closing the door but don't anticipate issues. He is also doing great with potty training!   The foster emphasizes that he is a very, very, very good boy who wants to please - and who has the world's cutest face. He just wants humans to love and be loved by.   What do you say? Can you see Leandro by your side? Are you his ticket into a forever home? Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
