Story
Remember Clifford the Big Red Dog?Remember desperately wanting a buddy like that -- a loyal, affectionate, goofy companion who made every day a joyful adventure? As a child I read the book, watched the cartoon (and as an adult, I saw the movie)... always a little jealous that Clifford wasn't mine!Well, now Clifford the Big Red Dog can be YOURS!!!He's here, at Animal Aid Society, waiting to fill a lucky person or family's home with love and laughter! Our Clifford is a big red hound mix, about 3-years-old. He came to us from an overcrowded rural shelter. At 60-pounds, he's SO skinny (so he's going to get bigger, and possibly redder as good nutrition makes his coat shiny). Clifford's weight tells us that he had a rough start, but you'd never know that after spending time with him! This gentle boy is happy, snuggly, soft, and just grateful for any friend who stops by! He loves toys, but even more than that, he loves laying at your feet and getting pets and rubs. Clifford is underweight -- clearly, he didn't get enough to eat -- and while he really, really appreciates his meals (and treats!), he will still stop eating to snuggle and make sure his friends are nearby! Our amazing medical team recently brought Clifford to the vet for his intake exam -- he was such a good boy in the car and at the vet's office! He is heartworm-positive, but Animal Aid pays for the treatment, even after you bring him home! PLEASE come meet Clifford the Big Red Dog -- stop by Animal Aid Society between 9am and noon any day, including weekends & holidays. You can't miss him -- Clifford is, well, big, and he's sporting a pink puffy jacket to help keep him warm during this cold snap! He's waiting to fill your life with joy at 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
