Story
Gertrude came to the shelter as a stray so we don't really have much background information on her. We have found that during here stay here at the shelter she is a very sweet girl. She loves to go on walks and likes to play with her toys. She is dog social and loves to play with the younger dogs. She does not realize her size. A meet and greet with the other dog will be part of the requirment for her to go home with another dog. Her obedience training is going well, and basic manners always need to be worked on. She will require that she goes to a home with a fenced yard. We feel that she is roughly about 1.5 old and weighs in at 53lbs. Gerty has spent sometime in a foster home and the reports have came back that she is a pretty busy girl. If she is left to her own devices she will keep her self busy and that always isn't always in a good way. We would highly suggest that she go to a home with another dog. She is going to need a job and someone who is going to keep her mind busy. If you are interested in meeting her we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an adoption application. Her adoption fee is $250.00 that includes her being spayed and current on all her vaccinations. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgNovember 6, 2024, 5:41 am

Story
Hello, my name is Sasha! Despite being in a beagle rescue, I'm actually a Treeing Walker Coonhound, and bigger than the average beagle. I'm around 5-7 years old, and I'm looking for a family to love me. I was abandoned in a park by someone who removed my collar and left me. A kind man did eventually rescue me, and I've been living with a foster family. They say I'm a bit slow to open up to people, but that's only because I've been let down before. However, I've shown that I'm incredibly loyal and affectionate to those who are kind to me. I will require a patient and gentle family who can help me come out of my shell. If you think your family could give me the loving home I deserve, please get in contact with my rescuers. Please come and meet me, and see if we're the right match!
