Story
Danner is a 1 year, 5 month old handsome red boy. This smiling boy weighs approximately 55 lbs and is the sweetest, gentle but playful boy you will meet. He has one of the saddest stories. This sweet boy was on death row. He was set for euthanasia in April of 2023, as a 3-month-old puppy. An amazing person pulled him from the euthanasia list, but with no rescue backing or help, they just wanted to make sure he wasn’t euthanized. Danner has patiently waited over a year for his forever family. He has grown up in a home he didn’t know wasn’t his forever one. He gets along great with other dogs and doesn’t even mind cats, he does NOT have a high prey drive. Danner’s favorite activities involve laying around in the house, playing with toys and being free in the yard to sunbathe or just run around and stretch out. This awesome boy is a diamond in the ruff. He is so calm but entertaining, just wants to be in your arms and get lots of pets. He will be your most loyal companion, your shadow and your best friend. Danner will follow you around everywhere he can if allowed. He is not a leader, and would do fantastic with another dog in the home to be friends with or to learn how to be a true house dog. He is mostly crate and house trained. Danner would do great with a medium active household as he loves his walks, would do great on shorter runs (he has never been on a run, but he could get the hang of it!). He would thrive on going on adventures and exploring the outdoors. He is still a puppy at heart and does need proper training and stimulation to make him the best version of himself. Danner has waited over a year for his home, please help us help him find it. Adoption fee includes: Spay or neuter, current negative heart worm test, current parvo/distemper vaccines, bordatella (kennel cough), rabies vaccination, flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormer, microchip, health certificate from a veterinarian, and transport costs from Texas to the East coast.

Story
Name: Duke Breed: Redbone hound mix Approximate Age: 6 years old Sex: Male Dogs: Yes Cats: No Kids: Yes 6 years old, Redbone hound mix, he is good with other dogs, no kids under 13 (he was teased by a young kids to the point he does not like them) no cats. He is leash trained, he does guard his food so needs to be fed separate in his own space. Food guarding is something that most times improves over time once a pup is out of the shelter environment and with a committed family willing to train. -Attention: all puppies will need a family committed to basic obedience training. This includes but is not limited to: House, leash, behavioral & crate training. If there is a cat in the home, it is the adopters responsibility to get them acclimated to one another. We suggest contacting a trainer as soon as possible. All dogs are fixed and up to date on shots for adoption. Link to apply: http://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html

Story
Meet Elvis, a regal young neutered male English (red tick) coonhound mix, weighing about 45 lbs! Elvis is a friendly dog that loves a warm bed and some dogs to play with! He is friendly and is good with other dogs, people, children and cats. Elvis is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this handsome guy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2298876##

Story
Apply for Whooper Oh, look who it is—fabulous folks! It’s me, Whopper, your totally understated Redbone and Tree Walking Coonhound, just waiting to dazzle everyone who dares to come near! Mark your calendars for December 21, because, obviously, it’s the day the universe decided to bless us all with my presence! I'm on track to become the most ridiculously handsome hound you’ve ever laid eyes on—bear that in mind.   Oh, and newsflash: I’m neutered, microchipped, and up to date on my vaccinations. So basically, I’m living my best life—healthier than that carrot at a rabbit rave! Isn’t that something? I’m the furry tornado you never knew you needed! Exercise? Pfft, I thrive on it. I can sprint faster than your average couch potato on a snack run—impressive, right? Nothing gets my tail wagging more than staying busy, whether it’s following my nose on scent trails (sure, they might involve critters that, let’s be honest, probably have an elaborate plot against me) or playing riveting games of "who can catch the frisbee fastest." Spoiler alert: It’s always me. A busy day? Well, that's just a Tuesday in my world!   What I truly dream of is finding a family that can keep up with my endless energy—basically, folks who are obsessively into physical fitness and mental gymnastics. I’m on the hunt for a forever home where I can get all the love, guidance, and training I need to become the absolute best boy you’ve ever envisioned. Seriously, with a sprinkle of love and a dash of patience, I might just become the canine superstar you didn’t know you were missing! Apply for Whopper ##2305873##

Story
Apply for Teensy  I’m Teensy, the exquisite Redbone/Tree Walking Coonhound mix, and spoiler alert: I'm not just pretty—I’m basically the queen of the universe! Entered this fabulous world on December 21st (oh yes, just in time for all that holiday cheer), and I come with all the bells and whistles: spayed sophistication, microchipped brilliance, and a treasure trove of age-appropriate vaccines—because, let’s face it, who said you can’t be a knockout while also being in peak health?    Now, listen up because I’m on a super important quest! I’m on the hunt for a family who can keep my nose working overtime and my brain buzzing like it’s trying to solve the mysteries of the universe. I mean, I’m not just a pretty face; I’m a canine Einsteinn, ready to take on any mental challenge you throw at me. Whether it’s those brain-bending puzzle toys, a rousing game of hide-and-seek (I’m really great at hiding… but don’t ask how seeking goes!), or just outsmarting my humans—it’s all in a day’s work for me. I dream of a family who’ll challenge me to showcase my dazzling intellect—who knew dog training could be the next reality show phenomenon?!   And let’s take a moment to chat about walks! Oh boy, if my perfect day could speak, it would definitely suggest a long, leisurely stroll, preferably with the wind tousling my fur and a nose that’s basically trying to inhale every captivating scent in the vicinity. The longer the leash? Oh, you bet that means a grander adventure! Picture it: you, me, an enchanting park bursting with tantalizing odors, spontaneous squirrel sprints, and those delightful “Oops, did I accidentally roll in something utterly fabulous?” moments. Trust me, I’ll keep you entertained—you’ll laugh so hard, you might just forget you ever had a name!   But wait, there’s more! I’m also a social butterfly extraordinaire! If you’ve got other furry sidekicks, little humans, or even a cat who thinks it’s the supreme ruler of the universe, I’m more than ready to welcome them into my fabulous party of fun! I absolutely love dogs and I’m totally down to share my toys (okay, maybe just a bit of haggling on that front) and romp around all day. If you’ve got kiddos in the house, they can join in on my training—teaching them how to unlock my secret tricks will really cement my status as the star of our show!    So, if you think you can keep up with this whirlwind of joy and are ready for a lifetime filled with adventures, snuggles, and laughter, then let’s join forces! Together, we can tackle new challenges, explore the great outdoors, and perhaps even become the best dog-human duo to ever grace the planet. Remember, I’m not just looking for a family; I’m scouting for a crew prepared to create unforgettable memories and dish out all the belly rubs a girl could dream of.  Apply for Teensy ##2305872##

Story
Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Please help Watson, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Rides is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Watson to his new home. This is included in the adoption fee.
