LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250 Meet Ronny, a lively 1 ½ year old Redbone Coonhound/Beagle mix who wears a short red and white coat. He's a bundle of joy, always ready to play and spread cheer! He loves playing fetch! He's smart, too! He knows sit, shake, and lie down. Ronny weighs around 45 pounds. His sweet disposition makes him a wonderful companion, his playful nature a source of endless amusement. Ronny was adopted as a pup and after one year of living in his home they had to return him because they could no longer care for him. Ronny walks well on a leash, making him a perfect partner for your morning strolls or evening jogs! Despite his energetic nature, he is also incredibly gentle, making him suitable for families with children. And he's a real cuddle bug! Adopt Ronny and bring home not just a pet, but a loyal friend and a ray of sunshine! (ME, 5/2/24) (revised 11/9/24) LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250 **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 13, 2024, 5:20 pm

Story
Introducing the epitome of why we rescue... Dottie (Hinson), Mama dog to the League of Their Own Litter. Dottie didn't have the nicest life before she came to us. It's a long sad story but this amazing pup has thrived since coming into foster care. Dottie is a medium sized supermutt adult pup. She's about 43lbs and is the gentlest soul that has come through the rescue in a bit. Dottie's time and experiences outside the rescue has left her extremely timid of new things but after time and patience, we know she will thrive. She gently comes up to her people, will put her feet in their lap, and jump on the couch next to them but will spook if there's a sudden noise or movement. She walks on a leash like a champ and sticks with her people on public outings. She also LOVES other dogs. She recently taken up as BFF to her Great Pyrenees foster sibling and adores wrestling with him. She is insatiable in her playtime efforts and zoomies with the best of them. She also likes to build nests in her safe spaces and will carry around toys, shoes, pillows, and dirty laundry if you leave it out. Dottie has only destroyed the tv remote a few times but everything else has remained unscathed as she collects items for her hoard. Dottie takes treats like a lady, likes her crate and will need her own safe space, and is generally a quiet pup in the home. When it's nap time, Dottie sneaks onto the guest bed or loves to share a dog bed with her 4 legged siblings. Group naps are the best naps. Dottie would do best in a house with older children, a fenced in yard, another happy go lucky dog, and someone that just wants to be her laidback person. So if you want to rescue this amazing girl who has so much love to give, please let us know by filling out an adoption form here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms. We'll forward it to her foster pawrents who will reach out directly and share pictures, videos, and talk all things Dottie.

Story
This gorgeous girl is TIA (formerly advertised as Faith). Tia was part of a large group of stray pups living in rural Alabama. She had multiple litters with her last pups being fostered and adopted through the rescue. We finally trapped this sweet girl after she showed up with an injury to her noggin'. Tia is a bit special needy after her brain injury but she's truly a great dog learning to live her best life. This sweet girl is waiting to find the right family. Tia is fostered with Dottie and Yeti (both are also up for adoption) and she LOVES hanging out with them. Tia has the biggest crush on Yeti and loves to flop over near him and she thumps her tail so hard. She also loves to hang out and chew sticks together. She's part of the zoomie crew and has learned to play! She'll get excited, get in play pose, and her foster humans will raise their arms and "rawr" causing Tia to ruuuuun and zoomie around with her tail wagging so hard! This sweet girl is housetrained, great in a crate, walks like a champ on a leash, and is extremely food motivated. Tia will boop you with her nose to greet you and has the cutest smile. She is selective with who can pet her but she loves to be around her people, plus bragging rights if you're one of her chosen people. This girl will thrive with another pup, a fenced in yard because she LOVES laying in the sun and grass to nap, and a family willing to take things at her pace. If you're interested in this amazingly easy keeper, please submit an adoption form here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/form. We'll forward it to her foster family who will reach out to you to discuss all things Tia, in addition to sharing all the pictures and videos.
