LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250 Imagine, if you can, a country girl version of Paris Hilton, and that would be OUR gal Paris! At only 6 months of age, she's blonde, a slim 35 pounds, and has long legs and beautiful eyes. Instead of strutting the catwalk, she's running through the woods and checking out nature. Paris is very approachable and loves everyone she meets, (humans and canines), so she'd happily pose for a photo and autograph. She would easily settle in to family or single life, but be advised that her lovely face and sweet personality may attract a lot of attention. (RM, 6/13/2024) LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 13, 2024, 3:08 pm

Story
Junior is a 7-year-old 19 lb. rat terrier mix who was picked up as a stray in NC. Junior is very lucky. It is believed he probably had an encounter with an auto that left him a little crooked. When we say crooked, we are referring to his pelvis--or as the vet says, he is a bit 'asymmetrical'. But he is one of the lucky ones that has normal musculature on both hind legs and did not need surgery. Junior is on a low dose NSAID to help keep him comfortable (minimal cost of $10/mo). Junior is also a happy dog. He is thrilled to be getting 2 meals a day, so much so that his prey drive is greatly reduced. He is happy to sit next to you on the sofa, he is happy to go on walks, and he is especially happy to roll in the grass. Junior gets along nicely with his foster siblings but can still be a bit unpredictable when meeting new dogs outside. He might bark when he sees people or dogs but is easily corrected by name (or treats) and is learning that many neighbors give head and chin scratches (and treats), and he will sit politely at their feet taking it all in. Junior doesn't seem too interested in toys, although he has played a few times. But as a big bonus- he is almost completely house-trained! Don't let his crookedness fool you either, he loves to go on walks and can do over 1.5 miles at a time. If you keep a brisk pace, he will keep up with you, but if you slow down, he might just take the opportunity to roll in the grass. Junior's best home is one where he is the only pup, where there are no wood stairs inside, and his humans are home most of the time. He is crate-trained but would prefer not to be crated. Due to his limited range of motion, we are looking for a local adopter who is able to meet Junior. Just beware, he may not be crooked like a thief--but he may steal your heart! You can see more photos of Junior at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/junior .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Minnie is the sweetest, best cuddler, definitely a Velcro pup and adorably cute. Minnie is housetrained and has gotten along great with resident Aussie/retreiver mix. They sleep next to each other and like to run around and play in backyard. Minnie has won over the humans in the foster household, as well! The times she has been left alone for short periods of time, she is very happy to be on one of her humans beds and is very well behaved. Minnie is just the best! If you're looking for a bestie, come and get me - I won't be hanging around in foster care for long! Minnie is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Tilly and her housemate, Pup Philly, were surrendered by their owner at no fault of their own to an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. Tilly is ready to find a safe and loving forever home. Could that be with you? At 15 LBS, she is the prefect size for apartment living. She is very timid and would do best with another little dog. Tilly is very sweet and gentle. She is a quiet and calm girl. While Tilly loves other dogs and to be around them, she isn't a big player. At her young age, Tilly is in her prime for training and socialization. Submit an application today and change this very deserving girl's life forever! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/.
