Story
Imagine, if you can, a country girl version of Paris Hilton, and that would be OUR gal, Paris! This blonde, 6-month-old mix of Rat Terrier and Black Mouth Cur, weighs a slim 35 pounds and will be a medium size when mature. She has long legs and beautiful eyes. Instead of strutting the catwalk, she’s running through the woods and checking out nature. Paris is very approachable and loves everyone she meets, (humans and canines), so she’d happily pose for a photo and autograph. She would easily settle in to family or single life but be advised…her lovely face and sweet personality may attract a lot of attention! (6/13/24, R)    **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  September 5, 2024, 10:35 pm

Story
Junior is a miracle dog who was hit by a car but has made a nearly full recovery. He is a 7 ½ year old, 19 lb. rat terrier mix who was originally picked up as a stray in NC. The shelter noticed he was guarding his left rear leg and put him on pain medication until he arrived to his foster home in MD. As a result, he has now been diagnosed with an asymmetrical pelvis, but the good news is he has normal musculature on both hind legs. To manage his pain, Junior is still on a low dose medication (approx. $10-30/month) that helps with normal day to day activities.Junior's vet notes him as 'very sweet', and if he sees a head or chin scratch coming he will politely take it and move in for more. He might bark outside when he sees people ahead but is easily corrected and is learning that many neighbors give head and chin scratches too! Junior doesn't seem too interested in toys, but he can definitely be playful!  He is completely housetrained.Although he did well with his canine foster siblings, he can be a bit unpredictable when interacting with them or new dogs on his walks. He may be a bit too dominant or bossy for other dogs, so he would love to be the only loving pup in your home. He would probably not do well around small children either.Junior's best home is one where he is the only pup, there are no wood stairs, and his humans are home most of the time. He is crate-trained but would prefer not to be crated for long periods of time. Due to his pelvis condition, we are looking for a local adopter who is able to meet Junior. No accident could stop this handsome boy's spirit, and he is eager to find the place he belongs. You can see more photos of sweet Junior at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/juniorOur adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old.
