Cash is a great dog, but he has not been happy in our new house and with the baby. He has no been aggressive or snapped at him, but he seems uncomfortable around him. I am hoping to find him a home that he will be happier at. He was my ex husbands dog, and he left and did not take him. I can’t give him the love he needs with my busy schedule and kids.

Story
Hi there, I'm Mr. Magoo! For those of you of a certain age, you’ll understand why I got my name. You see, I was found lying along the side of a highway by some kindhearted people who quickly realized something was wrong with my eyes. Thankfully, AAR had room for me, and they welcomed me with open arms! When their amazing veterinarian checked me out, she knew right away that I needed to see an ophthalmologist. I’m so glad I did because, as it turns out, I was in a lot of pain. The tough but right decision was made to remove both of my eyes, and let me tell you—I feel SO much better now!But that’s not all! I’ve also got these funky front legs (something called carpal hyperextension), which makes it look like I walk on my wrists. Does it bother me? Nope! I think it just adds to my charm. Oh, and I was heartworm positive, but I’ve been treated—yay me!Through it all, I’ve been living in the coolest foster home with four REALLY BIG dogs and two cats. I like them, and they like me! Don’t let the fact that I have no eyes scare you—I learn my surroundings quickly and get around just fine. You’d be SO impressed with me! Honestly, I move around better than some people... LOL!Now, if you’re looking for a walking or running buddy, I might not be your guy. But if you want a loyal companion who just wants to be by your side (or in your lap), then I’m definitely your guy! I LOVE squeaky toys, I LOVE food, and here’s something you’ll love—I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, had a potty accident in the house. Pretty impressive, huh?Because I’m such a special dude, my foster mom says I can stay with her until I find my furever home. So, if you want to meet me (and I really hope you do!), send an email to dogadoptteam@aartexas.org.I can’t wait to find my person—maybe it’s you!Love,Mr. MagooEst. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Peanut is quite the handsome boy!  He follows his foster mom everywhere.  When cuddling on the sofa, his paw must be touching her, making sure she is right there. He loves watching TV!! He sits in front of the tv mesmerized if there are animals. (He's a huge fan of Heartland )  Peanut does have trust issues and will retreat when he meets new people.  He's shy and reserved to begin with, and needs time to feel comfortable.  We feel there was abuse in his previous adoptive home.  He is very selective with other dogs. Please consider opening your heart and home to this incredible loving boy!  You won't be disappointed!   Please contact  info@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog or to schedule a meet and greet. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!   The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. Story
Peanut - JRT/Maltese - Male - 1 year - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Peanut: This gorgeous 1-year-old neutered male Terrier mix came to us shy and a little nervous. We think he's probably a JRT mixed with some Maltese, but either way he's 100% adorable Lapdog. At 9lbs he loves to be held and be close to his human. Peanut is still learning that Toddlers make unexpected movements and noises that he's not a fan of, but they also drop food and treats, which is he a fan of, so he is learning trade-offs. He is realizing that "hiding" on the top of the Sofa back is out of reach for the toddler in his fosters home and can be used as a time-out safety spot. He follows the resident dogs and cats for outside time and is getting the hang of house training - until he's mastered that he is not complaining about wearing bellybands. Leash walking is still new to him and he's getting better, he  does ride quietly in the car. Peanut is looking for a home with (older, calmer) children or without, preferably with another companion dog for him to learn from and follow. He may be able to handle regular working hours provide he receives sufficient exercise and attention around those hours. He is a Velcro dog that will follow you closely and likes being held. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Story
Peppermint Patty - JRT/Brittany - Female - 3 months - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Peppermint Patty: This GORGEOUS little girl was found skinny and cold alone on a playground and her bad luck turned into good luck when one of our wonderful foster families found her. After fruitlessly searching for her family, she was nursed back to health, growing leaps and bounds and is now ready to find her furever family. Patty is about 3 months old, currently about 18 lbs and still growing, she *should* top at around 45 lbs, but that is an educated guess. Patty is active and playful, loves playing with some of her foster's other dogs, while evading correction from one of them who acts as the "fun police". As a puppy she is still working on house training - she is doing pretty well most of the time - she also likes to explore her world with her teeth. Learning what is appropriate to chew on (HER toys) and what is not (people, shoes etc) is ongoing, she redirects well, with typical puppy short attention span. She is looking for a home with another playful dog for her to play with and to learn from. As she is mouthy and jumpy, older kids if any would be best. She is also still learning leash walking and general house rules, so patience, time and attention is also required. She can not yet "hold it" for a full work day, so SAHM/D or Work from home is desired. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets*** ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
