Story
Hudson is a 3 year old, 9 lb Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. He is a tiny, adorable dog with a huge personality that will keep you laughing all the time! He loves to play with other dogs and is always the first to make friends when new fosters come into the house. He can hold his own with big dogs and little dogs alike. His favorite activity is running zoomies, and he will run so hard and fast down the hall that he bounces off the wall...but he hops right back up and is ready for more. He also loves to explore the backyard and find the perfect stick or hunt down those annoying cicadas! Hudson doesn't live with kids, but we think he would be ok with kids ages 10 and over. Kids will need to understand that Hudson is not the type of dog to be chased or picked up. Hudson is cuddly and loves to snuggle at night, but prefers it on his own terms. He doesn't love being picked up...it scares him a little...but he is getting more used to it. Having other dogs around is a must for him as it gives him confidence and someone whose lead he can follow. He is housetrained with a dog door but is probably going to mark at first, so if that's a huge deal to you, he's not your dog (remember, he's tiny so the clean-up is negligible). Bring a smile to your face every day - take Hudson home with you! You can apply at www.humanetomorrow.org, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
Penny is an 8 year old, 15 lb Rat Terrier. She was adopted from Humane Tomorrow 7 years ago, but sadly, her adoptive dad passed away last year, and adoptive mom has serious health issues and can no longer care for Penny. We promised that we would find another wonderful home for Penny, one with people who will adore her as much as they did. She is an active 8 year old, so no worries about lack of activity and enthusiasm for life. Foster mom says she loves to do "dog work" with the resident dogs; like running to the storm door to see and bark at anyone in the cul de sac, or running the fence line to protect foster mom from bike riders, walkers and other dogs on a stroll with their owners. Penny doesn't bark a lot, just when she's on the job! Penny LOVES her people and is a total lap dog. She likes to burrow under a blanket at nap time. She walks well on leash, and is a great passenger on car rides. She gets along with the other dogs and cats at her foster home, but she will do just fine as an only dog too. We thinks he will be fine with kids over the age of 10. The first step to meeting Penny is to submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Hi there, and welcome to my page! So glad you dropped in! I’m still getting to know my new friends here at DAS… they’re going to help me find my new family! I’m helping with the search, too, so I’ve put together FIVE reasons why you should click that “Adopt Me” button and take me home.1.I’m ADORABLE, of course. Just look at me! 2.I’m a great listener. Tell me all about your day, I never get tired of lending an ear!3.I have enough tail-wags and kisses to make every day a good day.4.You’ll never have to watch a movie alone again, and I’m not even picky about what we watch!5.Repeat reasons 1 through 4… I’d be the best doggo you could ever want!

BREED-Rat Terrier Mix; SEX-Male; SIZE-Small; WEIGHT-13 lbs.; AGE-Approximately 1 Years; SPAY/NEUTER-Yes; HOUSETRAINED-Currently Uses Doggie Door; GOOD WITH KIDS-Yes; GOOD WITH DOGS-Yes; GOOD WITH CATS-Unknown; HISTORY-Rescued From A Local Shelter; ADOPTION FEE-$300;Hey there, I'm Hemi! You know, I'm a pretty funny guy. I once chased a squirrel up a tree, thinking I'd catch it. Little did I know, dogs can't climb trees! So there I was, stuck on a branch, with that squirrel laughing at me from above. That's how I ended up here, in the shelter. The firefighters had to rescue me, and boy, was that a sight to see! But I promise, I've learned my lesson. No more tree climbing for me! I'm just a sweet, playful and friendly guy looking for a home where I can provide endless laughter and companionship. Adopt me, and let's make our own fun stories together!July 5, 2024, 7:11 pm
