Story
Bailey is a handsome terrier mix (maybe ratty and Boston??) who got returned to our program after being adopted for 5 years. He is a little timid, but he is super sweet. He takes treats gently from your hands. Let's give this boy a second chance at forever! From his foster Dad - Bailey can be low key most of the time. It took a while to get him to go out in the yard, but now he loves it. He will fuss with the others at the neighbor's dogs. He also seems to want to patrol the fence, as if it's his duty. He comes in when called. He gets excited a meal time, and will dash to his spot. At times, he has had issues with the other foster dogs but usually he wants to hang out with them. He still has some nervousness and may snip in fear if scared so someone with a gentle approach is needed and young kids would not be a good match. He does like being petted and he likes napping on the sofa, the arm of my chair, or the big blue pet bed!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
Hi there, I'm Mr. Magoo! For those of you of a certain age, you’ll understand why I got my name. You see, I was found lying along the side of a highway by some kindhearted people who quickly realized something was wrong with my eyes. Thankfully, AAR had room for me, and they welcomed me with open arms! When their amazing veterinarian checked me out, she knew right away that I needed to see an ophthalmologist. I’m so glad I did because, as it turns out, I was in a lot of pain. The tough but right decision was made to remove both of my eyes, and let me tell you—I feel SO much better now!But that’s not all! I’ve also got these funky front legs (something called carpal hyperextension), which makes it look like I walk on my wrists. Does it bother me? Nope! I think it just adds to my charm. Oh, and I was heartworm positive, but I’ve been treated—yay me!Through it all, I’ve been living in the coolest foster home with four REALLY BIG dogs and two cats. I like them, and they like me! Don’t let the fact that I have no eyes scare you—I learn my surroundings quickly and get around just fine. You’d be SO impressed with me! Honestly, I move around better than some people... LOL!Now, if you’re looking for a walking or running buddy, I might not be your guy. But if you want a loyal companion who just wants to be by your side (or in your lap), then I’m definitely your guy! I LOVE squeaky toys, I LOVE food, and here’s something you’ll love—I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, had a potty accident in the house. Pretty impressive, huh?Because I’m such a special dude, my foster mom says I can stay with her until I find my furever home. So, if you want to meet me (and I really hope you do!), send an email to dogadoptteam@aartexas.org.I can’t wait to find my person—maybe it’s you!Love,Mr. MagooEst.
