Story
Zeus is a sweet, loving dog. He loves to run, play, dig and thoroughly enjoys chasing his paws. Once we found some durable toys, he did a much better job at not being so destructive with them. We have a 5yo, 8lb Maltipoo with whom he gets along; they enjoy playing together. He also does really well around kids. He is protective but not aggressive. He didn't get much training but knows the basics: how to sit, lay down, stop, walk. We walk him occasionally, but it isn't done daily because of our schedules. Hence, our decision to rehome him. Because of our work schedules, he isn't allowed to be out and play as much as we would all like. He does have a limp that he's had since a tiny puppy. The x-ray they did at the vet showed only inflammation, which bone health gummies have seemed to help it heal on its own. He’s currently on an active Banfield plan until March.

Story
What do you get when you take a gorgeous purebred rat terrier, endow him with plenty of self-confidence and a friendly personality, make him adventurous and playful, give him great energy but with an 'off switch' that quickly turns him into a calm snuggle buddy,  AND bestow him with great house manners? Why Boone, of course! This 24-lb. 5-year-old is all that and more. He is calm in the house, even when someone is at the door or passing by on the street, but becomes super lively when it's time for a walk, an excursion, or playing with another dog. While he gets along wonderfully with female dogs and enjoys romping, chasing, and playing with them, he is often suspicious and tense with other male dogs, so he hopes that his new home will have a sister or two but no brothers. As for people, Boone enthusiastically greets newcomers of any age and is affectionate with everyone. He is reliably house-trained and he loves spending time outdoors, racing around the yard, patrolling for critters, or just lounging on the deck, so a fenced yard is a must. Since he has a very strong prey drive and goes bonkers with excitement when he sees a squirrel, he will easily jump a standard 4-foot fence, so he needs one at least 6 feet tall. Unfortunately, Boone seems to think that cats are in the squirrel family, and he cannot be trusted around a cat. You can see lots more pictures of sweet Boone plus several videos in his on-line album at http://imageevent.com/beales/fosters/boone .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. November 12, 2024, 5:18 pm

Story
Meet Jack Jax!He is a approx 4 year old rat terrier mix, 15 pounds and up to date on all his vetting! Great with kids and other dogs but no cats! Sweet little guy that’s looking for a foster or adopter! Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Meet Jack, a sweet, loving rat terrier mix who never wants to leave his owners side!  It sometimes takes him a while to warm up, but once he does, he is a total cuddle bug. Jack has never had anything in his life close to a loving home. He was one of 11 dogs kept outside in one general fenced yard. Food was thrown in and water offer was what was caught in a bowl when it rained...and that was if it was turned right side up.This has made him suspisious of human attention. He is learning the kindness of human hands. Jack will need someone who will understand his past an allow him to make the moves as he becomes more comfortable. The reward for both Jack and you will be the formation of the closest bond ever.Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step.
