Story
Junior is a sweet, snuggly, 8-year-old 19 lb. terrier-chihuahua mix. He arrived from the shelter with a fractured pelvis that seemed to heal on its own, just a bit crooked, but he went from guarding his left leg at the shelter to being completely weaned off any meds while in foster care! Even though he probably had an unfortunate encounter with a car, he has normal musculature on both hind legs. Junior's confidence continues to increase with lots of daily walks as his physical therapy-- he can walk 2+ miles at a time and has just started using the wood stairs inside with stair treads! Junior is happy to be getting two meals a day, so much so that his prey drive is greatly reduced. He will love to snuggle next to you on the sofa and delights to go on walks. While walking, if you keep a brisk pace, he will keep up with you, but if you slow down, he might just take the opportunity to roll in the grass- especially when it is warm outside.  Junior gets along with his foster siblings but can still be a bit unpredictable when meeting new dogs outside. He might bark outside when he sees things ahead (people or dogs) but is easily redirected and is learning that many neighbors give scratches and he will sit politely at their feet taking it all in. Junior is still learning to play with toys. As a big bonus- he is almost completely house-trained! Junior's best home is one where he is the only pup, and his humans are home most of the time. He is crate-trained but would prefer not to be crated. He has been very good with children in the neighborhood, giving kisses and taking treats, but because of his injury, would probably be best in a home without small children. Due to his asymmetrical pelvis with some limited range of motion in his left leg, we are looking for a local adopter who is able to meet handsome, sweet Junior. You can see more photos and videos of him at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/junior . Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Meet Goose! This little lady came to us all the way back in January 2024 after she was found dumped alongside several other dogs. Goose has spent most of her time learning that people are not so scary and that she can have two-legged friends as well as four-legged friends. Goose is looking for an extremely quiet, patient home that will allow her to come into her personality at her own pace. She is not a fan of being held, or pet by new people. She LOVES treats. Snacks are the quickest way to Goose's heart. That, or if you have a doggy pal to keep her company. We would prefer Goose go to a home with another dog as she loves the company of other dogs. They seem to give her a very big boost in confidence and she can always be found snuggled up with her buddies. Goose is still working on her leash walking and has been doing okay with walking with a slip lead. We have not tried to put a collar/harness on her and would recommend her adopters use a slip lead on her until she is more settled. If you have some extra TLC to give and a calm, quiet home then stop by and visit her today! Goose is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
