Story
This sweet senior gent, Little Man, is looking for a peaceful,child-free home due to his visual and auditory impairments. Older, respectful kiddos would be okay though! Despite his challenges, he stays cheerful, loves the outdoors, and enjoys other animals. He even gets senior zoomies! While he gets along with other dogs, his limited vision prevents playful activities. So if pets are present they would have to be calm and respectful of his space.  He's a happy guy who deserves to live out his golden years with love and affection. Consider giving Little Man a chance to be part of your family! Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2171650##

Story
Bolt My name is Bolt named after Usain Bolt. You guessed it I am fast just like the Olympic sprinter. It is amazing I am so fast because I have an injured pelvis. Because of this injury I have had nerve damage and lost feeling in my back end. This means I cannot pee and poop like a normal dog. My foster family and vet are working with me to see if there is some things we can try. Currently we are trying out some medications to see if we can get me to have control of my functions. We are not sure if they will work but we want to try. I am such a cute boy and very loving. I get along with the other dogs in the home. I think I am in charge of the much bigger dogs because my whole six pounds are filled with determination. I am still a puppy but have gotten over a lot of puppy behavior like chewing and biting. I weigh almost 7 lbs and need to put more weight on. I am crate trained. Currently I wear a diaper most of the time. I do not love it but put up with it to make everyone happy. I am very smart and want to do the right things when asked. I love humans, my crate and soft beds. In my foster home the other dogs think I am to fast to play with but I try to play with them. Maybe they will come around. I am looking for a home where someone will love me for me. No one know how I got injured but it was not my fault. I deserve to be loved and have a loving family like all other dogs. If you have room in your heart and lap and couch please give me a chance. I will pay you back with lots of love. If interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org.October 19, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
I’m Frito, a rat terrier mix who is looking for a new chapter in my young life.I’m a small, energetic guy, about 23 pounds, and people say I’m spunky and funny. I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services. My estimated birth date is May 2022.I need some time to gain trust when I meet new people. But once I get to know you, I really show you the love!I’m a very good leash walker, and I know “sit.” I have a side job at HSYC modeling costumes, too!I need to be the only pet in my forever home, and I would do best in a home without young children. If you’re interested in a smaller pup with an energetic personality, let’s meet!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Meet Felix, who comes to us from the Vance County Animal Shelter. Felix is a 2-year-old, 25 lb., Rat Terrier mix. He is socialized, plays well with other dogs, is wonderful with children, and is always ready for your next adventure together. He will reliably use a doggy door, has excellent indoor manners and sleeps quietly in his crate overnight. Felix corrects easily, is both housetrained and crate-trained, enjoys car rides, and is excellent on leash. He is a top-notch hiking buddy and is happy to stop afterwards for a picnic lunch at the local park. Felix loves affection and would benefit greatly from having another dog to play with. Felix absolutely requires a securely fenced yard, as he does like to explore. He is currently living in a foster home and would love to find a permanent one. If you are interested in adding this perfect addition to your family, please reach out to us for an adoption application.
