Ginger is definitely the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet! She weighs approximately 18 lbs and is about 1 year old. She has not had an easy life. She was found roaming the streets, sleeping wherever she could, and getting chased by male dogs. Unfortunately, she didn’t even make it past her first or 2nd heat before she was pregnant. She had 3 beautiful puppies. She spent the first few weeks of their young life providing them shelter and finding food so she could feed them. It wasn’t until they were about 6 weeks when a good Samaritan found her and got her and her puppies safe. We believe the puppies were born around mid October, they have since been adopted 😊 Ginger is such a doll. She loves to please her people and be around people. A complete lap dog and cuddle bug. Once you start petting her, she will roll on her back to get lots of belly rubs. She doesn’t care where you pet her, as long as you do. She’s SOOO happy. Ginger loves other dogs and gets along with every dog she has met. She was a GREAT mom to her little ones too. She doesn’t mind cats at all (please see video). She completely ignores the cats inside the foster’s home and gives them no mind. She would rather be looking at her humans than anything else. Ginger is leash trained and does great on the leash. Because she has limited house experience, she is learning potty training currently, so she does need a home that understands she is not fully house trained. We do believe it won’t take long to house train her with someone who is consistent and patient. Ginger does great with all ages, children and all people. There is no person she has met she doesn’t just melt into. Lexie currently weighs about 10 pounds and is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog. Lexie is exceptionally lovable and becomes incredibly happy during lap time with her foster mom. She thrives on cuddles and is quite playful, just like her fellow pups. While she’s still working on housetraining, especially in the chilly Buffalo spring weather, she is comfortable using potty pads. When the weather is nice, she enjoys playing outdoors but prefers to be carried outside like the little princess she is! Once she's had her fun, she can dash back inside and up the stairs to her cozy bed in a flash! With her gentle and loving disposition, Lexie is sure to make a wonderful family dog. She is crate trained but needs leash training, so if you do not have a fully fenced yard, she will require additional training in that area. Lexie gets along well with other dogs! Like all puppies, Lexie is a blank slate that requires time and patience to develop into the fantastic dog we know she can become. She is one of Sally's puppies, and while we know Sally is a Rat Terrier mix, we are unsure about the identity of the father. Kenzie is the smallest of the litter, and we estimate she will grow to around 15 pounds. Kenzie is active, playful, and loves being outdoors. She's quite the speedy runner and has mastered navigating stairs in no time. Always on the lookout for toys and chewies, Kenzie enjoys playtime and listens well to commands. She is making great progress with her housetraining, thanks in part to the fully fenced yard in her foster home. Kenzie is also willing to use potty pads when necessary. However, please be prepared for some adjustment time and possible accidents as she acclimates to a new home and routine. Keep in mind that Kenzie is not yet leash trained, so if you don’t have a fully fenced yard, you will need to work on her leash training. She is suspected to be a Rat Terrier mix who exhibits amazing qualities. She enjoys long walks where she walks beautifully on her leash while scoping out all of the birds and squirrels in the neighborhood (we call that Dog TV). She is potty trained, too! Lula is great with people and other dogs, though she may be a little shy at first when meeting someone new. She does warm up rather quickly, and loves to cuddle and play. Since she is a terrier, she will benefit from a more active home to get out that energy! At night, she loves to curl up under the covers and sleeping in late. Lula is an amazing little dog, and we hope her forever family is out there for her!
