Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application Maybelline came with her baby. Baby was adopted.  She is a quirky dog,  typical Jack Russell type,  she gets along with other dogs but needs a few days to get to like the new dog as she feels she is queen bee.   She is very active, loves running around and playing with toys and other dogs, not really great with cats or small animals,  typical rat terrier jack russell.  Would do great with other Jacks or Rat Terriers or alone as well but needs time to adjust to new surrounding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 10:44 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bandit is an adorable mix of chihuahua, rat terrier and perhaps min pin (best guesses) who is looking for a new home. Bandit is now in a NJ foster home. Bandit came from a home with two other dogs - all 3 were surrendered together when their owner could no longer care for them. Bandit loves having a fenced in yard to run around in and sniff after the critters.  He has some leash reactivity which is a work in progress. He is dog friendly and really enjoys a doggie companion but needs a slow intro to new dogs especially bigger dogs. We think Bandit's ideal home would have an older, more confident sibling. Bandit is a super sweet guy who just needs a little patience to warm up and a confident person or family who will continue his training. Bandit is fixed, microchipped and up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. His adoption fee is $450.   How to Adopt Me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Birdie is a beautiful girl who is looking for a home. Birdie is with our rescue partner in Louisiana but can come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters. Birdie was left in a home when her owners moved away. Several other dogs were left behind too and several died from this abandonment. Birdie is a special girl. She needs time to trust after her recent abandonment. She needs a patient home with a loving person who will give her time and help her build her confidence. Once she loves you, she is a velcro girl!  Birdie is fixed, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mary is an adorable girl who is looking for a home. Mary is with our rescue partner in Louisiana but can come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters. Peter, Paul and Mary were found "down yellow bayou" by one of the volunteers for our partner rescue so of course they took them in. These small pups were likely dumped. We think they are mixes of rat terrier, dachshund and maybe beagle. They are estimated to be 10-12 months old. They are dog friendly and kid friendly and we think they will do fine with cats but we are double checking. They are crate trained and almost housebroken. Mary is fixed, up to date on vaccines. Mary tested positive for  heartworm and has begun treatment. We are looking for a foster to complete his treatment here in NJ with 2 visits to Barnegat Animal Clinic in mid March. Her adoption fee will be $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. Story
Marilyn, a 4-6-year-old, 13-pound female rat terrier/chi mix, is a cuddle monster. She has adjusted well to the cold city life after leaving San Diego. She flew to NYC to help make space in the shelters for the LA dogs displaced by the fires. She has the most beautiful light brown eyes that will remain trained on her chosen human. She is loyal loving girl who loves any and all treats. She has learned to “sit” as long as there are treats involved. When home with her human, she must be touching you. She will bark once or twice when her human leaves the house but settles down very quickly and is fine until they return. You must pay the belly rub tax when you leash her up and clean her paws. She does great on a leash and appears to be house trained.  Marilyn has a large bald patch on her back and tail and is dealing with lingering itchiness. She is on Apoquel which has helped significantly with the itchiness and allowed for the hair to start growing back. Her forever family will want to keep an eye on this and make sure that her skin and itchniness only continues to improve. She is receiving a dental on 2/6 to remove 2 fractured teeth. It appears she has had many babies in the past…and does not enjoy the energy of puppies. Who can blame her! She would do well in a home with another adult dog or solo. She seems intrigued by the sounds of cats on TV but that remains untested. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, lepto, and bordetella. Spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Marilyn, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2286388##
