Story
Meet Tina! She is a 1 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. An adoption application can be completed online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Story
Meet Bambi – The Bestest Girl Ready for a Fresh Start Bambi’s story began on the streets of Houston, where she was found wandering near the home of our branch manager, Jade. At just about one year old, this sweet girl has already proven her resilience. Now spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and officially dubbed “the bestest girl” by our vet, Bambi is ready to find a loving home where she can thrive. Life on the streets left Bambi with some anxiety, and she’s currently decompressing in her foster home. Once she warms up to you, though, her gentle, affectionate nature shines. She loves people and is learning to trust the world again. She gets along with other dogs, but as of now, we think Bambi would be happiest as the only doggo in the home while she continues to build her confidence. At Paws From Afar, we believe that all dogs deserve adventures as often as possible—new paths to explore, fresh scents to discover, and even oceans to swim in. Bambi is no exception. She’s looking for a family who will give her the love, patience, and security she needs to shine while exploring life’s simple joys. Adoption Details Adoption Fee: $600. The adoption fee includes all vetting and transport from Texas. Pet Insurance: Required before pickup. We recommend Trupanion for its comprehensive coverage and direct payments to veterinary hospitals. Please send a copy of your policy to deb@pawsfromafar.org. All dogs are up-to-date on vaccines and spayed/neutered before adoption. If you’re ready to give Bambi her happily ever after, please submit your adoption application at pawsfromafar.org. Note: If Bambi is still listed, she’s still available. We don’t offer meet and greets but are happy to connect you with her fosters prior to adoption. Please refrain from sending “I’m interested” messages—our team will contact you if we move forward with your application. We look forward to seeing your applications and helping Bambi find her perfect adventure buddy! ##2256029##

Story
Introducing Diesel, a 10-year-old male Rat Terrier who is looking for a loving home to call his own. This adorable pup loves nothing more than snuggling up under a cozy blanket and taking long naps. Yes, Diesel is a bit of a lazy guy who prefers lounging around over rigorous exercise. While he may not be the most active dog, he does enjoy going for leisurely walks and exploring his surroundings. Despite his laid-back demeanor, Diesel still enjoys playing with plushie toys and his favorites are squeaky toys. He is a kind and gentle dog who is a bit shy at first, but over time warms up to new people.Given Diesel`s shy nature, we are placing him with teens+. He lived happily with another small dog in foster and he would do well in a calm and quiet home with patient and understanding owners. Do you have the time to win over this shy but sweet boy? Follow the steps below to meet him!Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4. If you are interested in this pet, please call us at 978-452-7781, email info@lowellhumanesociety.org, or stop by the shelter to request an adoption application.
