At only 6 months of age, she's blonde, a slim 35 pounds, and has long legs and beautiful eyes. Instead of strutting the catwalk, she's running through the woods and checking out nature. Paris is very approachable and loves everyone she meets, (humans and canines), so she'd happily pose for a photo and autograph. She would easily settle in to family or single life, but be advised that her lovely face and sweet personality may attract a lot of attention. (RM, 6/13/2024) LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. Junior is a sweet, snuggly, 8-year-old 19 lb. terrier-chihuahua mix. He arrived from the shelter with a fractured pelvis that seemed to heal on its own, just a bit crooked, but he went from guarding his left leg at the shelter to being completely weaned off any meds while in foster care! Even though he probably had an unfortunate encounter with a car, he has normal musculature on both hind legs. Junior's confidence continues to increase with lots of daily walks as his physical therapy-- he can walk 2+ miles at a time and has just started using the wood stairs inside with stair treads! Junior is happy to be getting two meals a day, so much so that his prey drive is greatly reduced. He will love to snuggle next to you on the sofa and delights to go on walks. While walking, if you keep a brisk pace, he will keep up with you, but if you slow down, he might just take the opportunity to roll in the grass- especially when it is warm outside. Junior gets along with his foster siblings but can still be a bit unpredictable when meeting new dogs outside. He might bark outside when he sees things ahead (people or dogs) but is easily redirected and is learning that many neighbors give scratches and he will sit politely at their feet taking it all in. Junior is still learning to play with toys. As a big bonus- he is almost completely house-trained! Junior's best home is one where he is the only pup, and his humans are home most of the time. He is crate-trained but would prefer not to be crated. He has been very good with children in the neighborhood, giving kisses and taking treats, but because of his injury, would probably be best in a home without small children. Are you looking for an agility dog, a flyball dog, or a jogging buddy? Buddy is your boy. Buddy appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier/other terrier mix. He is around 1 year of age and weighs 24 pounds. He was found under a bridge in one of the local dumping areas. It is no surprise that Buddy was scared when we first got him, but he quickly warmed up. He loves getting attention from his people. He loves pets and being close to his humans. He loves belly rubs and will roll over on his back whenever you bend over to pick him up. Buddy is small but mighty. He is muscular and high-energy and requires a lot of exercise. He loves to run and wrestle with other dogs. Sometimes, he can be naughty and will intimidate one of our more submissive dogs. Yet he backs down when one of the chihuahuas or another dog puts him in his place. Buddy is generally a good boy, and training is a work in progress. He is smart, listens well, and comes when called. He is crate-trained and fairly well-behaved in the house. We are working on teaching him manners. He gets jumpy when excited or wants attention, and needs more training. He responds well to "no" and the "tsch" correction (as used by Cesar Milan). He is NOT a fence climber. It would be best if applicants are experienced with the breed and are willing to hire a trainer if necessary. Buddy would love his new family to play with him, take him on walks, cuddle, and give him a lot of affection and belly rubs. Buddy must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Buddy is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Buddy is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. His adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company. Scheduled stops include, but are not limited to, Hagerstown or Linthicum Heights MD. G Man is really what we call "extra needs". As our vet said when G was examined "what a trainwreck". Upon intake, G Man had no fur on his legs and they were covered in sores. He also was having rectal prolapses frequently, not to mention some stinky breath and skin. With some awesome vet care, medicated baths, oral meds and surgery, he has morphed into quite the handsome and quirky guy that he is today. G does require daily meds for his skin (about $35 per month ) and weekly baths with a medicated shampoo. He does experience bouts of constipation but he has meds for that also. G Man is tolerant of other dogs his size, but is terrified of puppies and larger dogs. He is most comfortable sitting/sleeping beside or on top of his human. His whole world will revolve around his person and when he lays his head against your chest and at you with his eyes, you know that you are deeply loved by him!
