Story
Elke is an 8-year-old, 12-pound Rat Terrier who is looking for a loving home where she can be the center of attention – or rather, the shadow of her person. This little lady may take a bit of time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, you'll have a loyal companion for life. Though Elke is a bit wary of men, she adores her humans and enjoys being by their side every step of the way. Elke is incredibly fast and loves to run, so a home with a physically fenced yard is a must. She has a strong prey drive and loves to chase anything that moves, so she’d do best in a household without cats or small children. As a true terrier, Elke has a natural instinct to hunt small animals, and her speed makes her quite the little athlete! While she’s independent, Elke loves to cuddle up with her person, especially if there's a warm blanket involved. She’s always a bit chilly and will happily wear a sweater to stay cozy. Her favorite spot is curled up in bed with her human, soaking in all the warmth she can get. Elke is also housetrained and gets along well with other dogs her size, but she's not a fan of larger dogs. If you're looking for a small, spunky, and loving companion who will follow you everywhere, Elke might just be the perfect match! Elke is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. She recently had her teeth cleaned, too.
