Story
Meet Biscuit! Biscuit is a 9-week-old Rat Terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! With her longer legs and head, she stands out from her shorter sister, but don’t let her petite size fool you—she keeps up with her larger littermates like a pro. Biscuit is a gentle soul who’s great at sharing and loves giving kisses. She adores snuggling in your lap for pets and attention. While she enjoys playing, she’s not the highest-energy pup, making her a perfect companion for someone seeking a playful yet calm addition to their family. This sweet girl is wonderful with kids and loves being held by her foster family's 9-year-old son. She also enjoys meeting new people, greeting everyone with her quiet charm. Biscuit plays well with the big adult dogs in her foster home but prefers to keep her distance when they get overly excited. Biscuit is already used to pee pads and chooses to use them consistently. She’s not a big chewer but has a soft spot for freeze-dried lamb lung treats. Grooming and care are a breeze with Biscuit—she’s excellent during nail trims, baths, and when receiving medications. She’s just beginning to explore the world of leash walking and is getting used to short outdoor adventures. Biscuit is ready to find a loving home where she can flourish and share her affectionate nature. Are you ready to make Biscuit a part of your family? Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 14 days of a veterinarian deeming the dog or puppy is ready to be altered. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Story
The Tenn. folks figure that I was born around the beginning of the year and took care of my sister and I, gave us our vaccines and sent us up North so that a better life would be had. I might be a little shy but must came in. My shelter mom knows that I will warm up fast to humans and am already comfortable with other canine friends. I weigh just a hair over 20# which lists me as medium. If you would like to meet me, PLEASE FILL OUT THE APPLICATION on the website of www.4Paws4U4Ever.com under How To Adopt. Thank you

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact LMo for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Stanley is a 4 year old male Rat Terrier mix who weighs in at 17 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $250.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Stanley has a face that will make your heart break. When he looks up at you, you just want to hold him and squeeze him. We do not know a lot about Stanley's past. He was brought into an ER facility by the police department as a hit-by-car. He had several fractures to his pelvis and was unable to walk. Since his initial injury Stanley has full feeling in his backend, is able to wag his tail, and is trying to stand on his own. Stanley will need rehab to help improve his rear end function. Do not let this fact fool you. He gets around on his two legs with no problem. He can be fast when he wants to. He does have a cart, but he is still learning to use it. Stanley has been living with three other dogs and has interacted with multiple other dogs. He is good with other dogs, but he does want to be the center of attention. He would be better in a single dog home, but not completely necessary. He seems to do better with women than men. He would be better off with a woman owner. He can be nervous with people, but he warms up quickly when treats are brought into the mix. He will bond with whoever decides to rescue him and will require lots of love and attention. He is not high energy. He loves to sit next to his person and watch tv or read a book. He wants to be wherever you are. He is not food aggressive or toy aggressive.  Stanley is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.  Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop! December 23, 2024, 10:23 pm
