You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact LMo for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Stanley is a 4 year old male Rat Terrier mix who weighs in at 17 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $250.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Stanley has a face that will make your heart break. When he looks up at you, you just want to hold him and squeeze him. We do not know a lot about Stanley's past. He was brought into an ER facility by the police department as a hit-by-car. He had several fractures to his pelvis and was unable to walk. Since his initial injury Stanley has full feeling in his backend, is able to wag his tail, and is trying to stand on his own. Stanley will need rehab to help improve his rear end function. Do not let this fact fool you. He gets around on his two legs with no problem. He can be fast when he wants to. He does have a cart, but he is still learning to use it. Stanley has been living with three other dogs and has interacted with multiple other dogs. He is good with other dogs, but he does want to be the center of attention. He would be better in a single dog home, but not completely necessary. He seems to do better with women than men. He would be better off with a woman owner. He can be nervous with people, but he warms up quickly when treats are brought into the mix. He will bond with whoever decides to rescue him and will require lots of love and attention. He is not high energy. He loves to sit next to his person and watch tv or read a book. He wants to be wherever you are. He is not food aggressive or toy aggressive.  Stanley is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.  Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop! December 23, 2024, 10:23 pm

Meet Biggy Moto – Your Gentle Giant in the Making! Biggy Moto is a sweet female puppy who arrived from Texas after being abandoned with her siblings. This soft, cuddly girl is as chill as a cloud – and just as gentle! With minimal barking and a calm demeanor, Biggy is always ready to share soft licks and delicate nibbles. An observant pup, Biggy enjoys sitting back and watching her littermates’ antics, but she isn’t shy and can hold her own during playtime. Biggy is well on her way to being potty trained and does great with puppy pads. She’s learning leash walking and enjoys outdoor adventures, exploring with curiosity and confidence. She’s already adjusted to children, large and small adult dogs, and meeting new people without a hint of nervousness. Story
Meet Cookie – The Sweetest Little Speckled Pup! Cookie is a 9-week-old Rat Terrier mix with a stunning dark brindle and white coat adorned with countless adorable speckles. Rescued from abandonment in Texas along with her siblings, Cookie has quickly shown she’s full of love, energy, and a bit of spunky charm. Don’t be fooled by her soulful gaze—Cookie is an energetic and playful puppy who loves romping with her littermates and the two adult dogs in her foster home (a 15 lb Rat Terrier and a 30 lb mixed breed). She thrives in the company of others, whether it’s a pup or her favorite 9-year-old human, who she adores snuggling with. Cookie’s love for treats, especially carrots, and chew toys makes her an easily motivated little learner. This vocal pup is known for her cute bark, especially when she’s excited during playtime. She’s kid-friendly, loves being held, and is adjusting well to her new name. Cookie is excelling with potty pads and starting to explore the great outdoors in short bursts as she gets used to leash walking and the weather. Her foster family is also working on basic commands, like "sit," with treat rewards. Cookie is used to nail trims, having her mouth checked, and even tolerates bath time like a champ. She and her siblings love to sleep in a big, cozy puppy pile, but she also enjoys one-on-one time with her humans and the adult dogs in the house. If you’re looking for a lively, loving companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Cookie is ready to sprinkle your life with joy and cuddles!
