Story
A WONDERFUL-NATURED GIRL:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 14 lbs. Hi there, I’m Hartley!  I joined the Mostly Mutts family after my dad passed away and my mom’s schedule changed significantly.  I’m glad to be here and in a wonderful foster home enjoying myself while I wait for a new family to come and adopt me.      • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  In my former home, I enjoyed playing with the medium sized and a little bit larger dogs and did well during open play when at a doggie daycare/boarding facility.  I was a bit nervous around smaller dogs and would bark at them.  I met dogs about my size at Mostly Mutts and was very interested in them and pretty vocal, so if you have a dog perhaps a bit larger than me, let’s meet and see if we can be good friends! / Cats unknown. / My former owner reported that I liked playing with the kids while with them, though I don’t recall their ages, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over as I am a little jumpy. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My former owner and fosters report that I’m a very sweet, serene, well-behaved and easygoing girl who just loves being with people.  I haven’t chewed anything outside of my toy box, and I’m eager to please - more than most Rat Terrier mixes!  I’m generally very quiet and didn’t even bark at the mailman in my former home, and I settled into my foster home very quickly.  I’ve been friendly with everyone I’ve met so far and just an incredibly sweet girl through and through. / Energy level: 5-7.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  So far, I know the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘go to your kennel’ commands.  Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s continue my training together.  I’m reported to be a runner as my curiosity is just too strong if I see a bird or squirrel that needs chasing – so let’s work on my recall and keep me on leash please for my safety.  My former owner also recommends that if you have a fence, make sure there aren’t gaps or openings in it, so I don’t slip through it and run.  Threshold training would be great, too, so I can learn not to run out the door.  These are all things we can learn together in the MM training classes! / In my former home, I liked to sleep in my crate at night – I’d put myself in it and it seemed to be a nice safe spot that I enjoyed sleeping in, so my foster is keeping with that routine. / Both my former owner and fosters report that I have very good potty manners.  I am used to having someone home and do like to go outside multiple times during the day, so I’d be thrilled with a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I have lots of likes!  I love napping in sunny spots and in my dog beds and I sure enjoy going on walks.  I already know the routine in my foster home and happily head out for my morning and evening walks which are about  1.5 miles in the morning and 1 mile in the evening if time permits. (I could go farther than that and more often if you like walking a lot!)  I do enjoy spending some time outside in my fosters’ fenced yard – sniffing around, running zoomies and watching the birds and squirrels, but I’m just as happy relaxing inside with my people.  Belly rubs, neck scratches, playing together and cozy cuddles are also some of my very favorite things! / I’m not a fan of deer – I get pretty excited when I see them and bark and want to chase!  And like all dogs, I wouldn’t be happy without enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have a luxating patella in my right, rear leg which can be common in a lot of smaller dogs, so I take an over-the-counter Cosequin tablet to help with that.     I’m a wonderful-natured dog looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 19, 2026, 6:53 am

Meet Bonnie — the Brave Girl with a Big Heart Bonnie’s come so far from her rough beginnings as a stray mama. She’s healthy, happy, and finally ready to find the forever home she’s been waiting for. This gentle, loving girl adores car rides, squeaky toys, and cozy cuddle time. She enjoys walks and playdates with other dogs but prefers to be the queen bee at home—the only pup soaking up all the love. Visitors are welcome, just don’t overstay your welcome! Bonnie is house trained, crate trained, and full of heart. She can guard her favorite things like treats, toys, or even affection, so she’ll do best in a dog-savvy, structured home with older kids or adults. In return, she’ll be your most loyal, affectionate companion. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. Story
Hello, my name is Linky West! I'm around 9 years old and I weigh about 15-20 pounds. I think I'm a rat terrier mix. I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and ready to find my new home! I'm house trained and have learned to walk on a leash fairly well. I do not like crates for more than a short period of time, but that's okay because I can be left out without any worry of mischief making. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was very scared and unsure. Over time, I have settled in and come to love it here. I'm so much more happy and confident. I discovered that I love toys and cuddling. I also love treats! Now that I am more confident, I have found my voice and will let you know any time something even remotely interesting is going on in the house or the neighborhood, so I'd do best in a home that did not share walls with neighbors. I live with four other dogs right now. I prefer gentle, easy going dogs and do not care for bossy or dominant dogs. I also lived with cats in my last home. My favorite companion is my human though. Once I get to know you, I will adore you! Where you go, I go. I must insist that I sit on the couch with you and sleep in bed with you.    An odd quirk I have is that I get scared when someone tries to handle me (like a vet) or put something on my body (like a harness). If you slow down and speak sweetly, it helps me calm down a bit. My other request is a securely fenced yard. This is because I sometimes try to dart out the door and run wild, and also because I'm still working on my leash skills.  I'm really enjoying life in my foster home, but I am ready to find my new forever home!   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.          April 19, 2026, 4:26 pm

Story
With great saddness I must find a new home for my best friend, my new job has me away too much. He is a 7yr old purebred rat terrier, he still has the playful and spunky characteristics rat terriers are known for. I would like for him to go to a home that has other playful small dogs/animals or a family with young kids. He gets along great with other animals as well as kids. He is update on all vaccines. He will come with his playpen/toys/beddings.....I am asking for a rehoming fee of $100 willing to compromise on fee depending on circumstances. I would like to rehome before April 15th. PLEASE ADD TO YOUR FAMILY, YOU WONT REGRET IT !

Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. March 10, 2026, 2:53 pm
