You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. Hello, my name is Linky West! I'm an 8 year old, 15 pound, rat terrier mix. I'm a spunky and sweet girl who is a bit shy and unsure at first, but I warm up eventually, especially if you have treats. I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and ready to find my new home! I had a loving person, but sadly they passed away. I was left alone in an abandoned house with only my fur friends and the occasional visitor to feed me. It's not surprising that I am loving life in my foster home where I have nonstop human companionship and furry friendships. I even started playing with toys and they are so fun! I live with four other dogs right now. My favorite is the big, shy one (I love him!) and my least favorite is the loud, obnoxious one (I hate him!). I also lived with cats in my last home. My favorite companion is my human though. Once I get to know you, I will ADORE you. Where you go, I go. I will sit on the couch with you and sleep in bed with you. Sometimes, I will show off my vocal capabilities, so my foster recommends no shared walls - apartments, condos, etc. I am not a fan of collars, harnesses, or leashes - they scare me! I hope to get more comfortable with them after more time and practice, but for now, I need a securely fenced yard in my new home. I can be a bit of an escape artist, so anyone who adopts me will have to be careful to keep me safe and secure. I don't mind going in a crate for meal time, but I don't like going in one for extended periods of time. That's okay because I don't make mischief when left out to roam freely while home alone. I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been soaking up the love from the dedicated volunteers and in my foster home ever since! I can’t remember how I ended up at animal control, but I’m thrilled to get a new chance to find a loving home and family – hopefully soon! I’m currently in a foster home while I wait for my furever family to come for me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I want to be your only dog. I don’t react to other dogs that I see on my walks. / Cats unknown, however, I have shown a bit of prey drive with other small animals. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was nervous around them, so kids 15+ may be a good match for me. Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a small guy with a big, loveable personality! I’m described as a sweet, gentle, fun-natured and playful, spunky guy. That’s right, I still have a spring in my step at 10 years old! I enjoy cuddling/snuggling with my people and will climb right into your lap if you let me! I’m not shy and can be vocal when I want your attention, so condo or apartment living would likely not be a good fit for me. I was also not shy about showing my elation, with grateful sighs of appreciation during my shelter bath. I am a smart, well-mannered, and friendly guy who is sure to bring joy to my new home! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I have already shown that I know several commands: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’. I also walk nicely on a leash, utilize proper door etiquette, and accept friendly strangers without jumping. I like to go on walks with my favorite stuffy toy in my mouth – so cute! I am treat-motivated and love to please, so I bet you can teach me even more – who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been pretty good on the shelter schedule and are good in my foster home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to spend time with the volunteers and have fun play sessions with them, especially in the MM play yard, and it’s always great when they bring out the toys! Playing fetch, chew toys, and tennis balls are my favorite things. You are not likely to find a bigger treat fan than me, either. Another thing I enjoy is peanut butter filled Kongs and I enjoy going for walks and surveying my world. In my foster home, I love to crawl into my bed and cover myself with a cozy blanket. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I came in with some broken teeth and needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and thankfully MM has done that for me. I’ve got a skin tag on my back leg, but it doesn’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind it either. I am looking for a wonderful furever home with a loving family!
