Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Meet Josie! Josie is a 2.5 yr old Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier mix who weighs 11.6 lbs. Josie is an entertaining little girl with lots of energy. She's perky, energetic, and very affectionate, without being overly clingy.  She uses the doggie door to go in and outside. She is good with kids and other dogs. She's not a big cuddler but will sit on your lap or hang out on the couch with you. She is used to sleeping in bed with her family. Josie is fully housetrained, crate trained, and knows how to use the doggie door to the fenced yard. She rides ok in the car and is still learning that car rides are fun. She can walk on leash but is used to going outside off-leash. Josie gets along great with the other dogs and previously did well with cats in her foster home. Josie is just a fantastic little companion.  If she sounds like the perfect fit for your home, contact us about her today!  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. November 3, 2024, 6:49 pm

Meet Georgie, as you can see in the video, he adores children. Georgie was dumped off in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the rescue. The people who found him brought him to us and he fit right in with all the gang here. He just gets along with everyone so well, dogs, cats, kids, strangers. He's just the perfect little boy. He's a big Ratty (23 lbs) so is probably mixed with something else. Our vet aged him at about 12 months so he's still a pup. he is neutered, microchipped, trained to a doggie door and fully vaccinated. Ready for immediate transport. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE   Age: 6 months (as of 11/1/2024) Weight: 16 lbs (as of 9/18/2024) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Winter Squash can’t wait to meet you! This sweet and playful boy is very smart and very precious! We are thinking handsome Winter is a Rat Terrier mix. Winter loves everyone he meets, including school age kids, and is playful with other dogs. He loves toys and is happy to chill with a ball when not playing with you! He loves a good game of fetch. He is a smart boy that is crate trained! He is still working on housetraining, and is getting really close, but still needs a little practice. He is getting mostly yard play for exercise, but his leash skills are in the works, and he recently enjoyed an outing to an outside restaurant where he could say hi to allllll the people.   Winter would love to find a forever family that has lots of time and patience to raise a puppy properly, and who has lots of extra time for loving and cuddles. He would thrive in puppy school! If you are looking for a puppy, Winter, or one of his littermates may be perfect for you! Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family! Squash Pups’ story: Their pregnant mom was found as a stray. A loving family took her in where she had her litter. They are now living with a loving foster family and doing great! Medical Note:  This dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. The dog has responded well to this treatment and is ready for adoption, though may still have some bald patches and/or thin fur in places.  Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies.  Please see here for more information on demodectic mange and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:  Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. November 3, 2024, 9:29 pm

Story
Adoption Donation   $  499     Located: RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: Puppy   DOB: 3/17/2024   Riley is the happiest little ball of energy! Her tail is always wagging and she does great with adults and other dogs. She is not a fan of young children, so older kids only. Riley is a curious, smart and lovable puppy who easily adapts and would be great for anyone that is home more than not. You see Riley has separation anxiety and really needs a family where there is someone at home most of the time. Because she is vocal when she is alone and anxious she would not be a good fit in an apartment or condo. Another confident, playful pup in the home would be great for Riley.     *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***   If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information:    kaysamlyss@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur.
