Story
This adorable boy is Buzz. He is one-year-old and weighs just 25 lb. We think he is a rat terrier mix. Just look at those ears!! Buzz is at a foster home, not at our shelter. His foster says " Buzz has been an easy dog to care for and love. He is friendly, gentle and already housetrained. Buzz enjoys being outside and walks well on a leash. He loves being with people, playing with his toys and having his tummy rubbed." Buzz is going to make someone a great companion! He is fine with other dogs and we can cat-test him if needed. Buzz is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Buzz, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions. Buzz can't wait to meet you!

Story
Rio came to us as an owner surrender when his family was losing their home to eviction. He was one of a number of dogs in the home that needed new homes, and we were able to take 3 of them. Rio is a friendly boy who is somewhat timid when he first meets new people or encounters new situations. He warms up quickly! There's no aggression - he's just a little scared at first.\ He loves other dogs and we would like to see him in a home with at least one other dog. He was best friends with a dog in his former home, and seems to love having a canine companion or two. He would be happy to live with children 10 years old or older. Rio is a wonderful boy who will make a great family member!

Story
"The Sweet Cowgirl Pup!" Are you ready to add some sweetness to your life? Meet Elsie, a darling 6 month old spayed female Australian Cattle Dog/Rat Terrier mix. Born to mama Bessie on June 4, 2024, Elsie is one of the "7 Cowgirl Puppies." DNA testing on her sister confirms their primary breeds as Australian Cattle Dog, Rat Terrier, and Australian Shepherd. She currently weighs about 15-20 lbs and is not expected to grow much bigger. She has petite features and refined bone structure like her mama (mom was about 30 lbs).  Elsie has demonstrated good social skills. She's working on potty training and doing very well, learning to sit politely for pets, and is friendly with other dogs and people alike! She is up-to-date on vaccinations, crate trained, and microchipped.  From Elsie's current foster:  "Although Elsie is bred to be high energy she’s actually the perfect mix of energy levels. She will calmly hang out in her crate while I’m at work or doing something in the house that I can’t watch her. Outside she will run laps and play but never runs too far out of sight and comes every time she’s called. She will play with her toys or other dogs in the house but most likely she’s relaxing on the couch chewing a bone or taking a nap. She’s not wired or super hyper. She wants to please her humans and tries hard to figure out what’s expected from her. She’s a pleasure to foster. Her terrier DNA does have her barking at the cats and will chase them if they run but she’s working on those behaviors." Apply to meet this sweet girl today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2129940##
