Sweet little Banjo has had such a HORRIBLE start at life, but you wouldn't know if from his willingness to trust people and love life! He was saved as a tiny puppy from a hoarder house that had 59 dogs living outside in filth, over breeding. Then put in a kennel for the first 8 months of his life! We just couldn't let him stay there one more day as a kennel is no place for a dog long term, much less a puppy. He was saved w/his kennel mate from the same hoarding situation and are now in a foster home w/our trainer learning how to be inside dogs. They both are doing SO GREAT! Banjo is super playful and loves meeting new people and dogs on his walks. He's knows sit, is crate trained and potty trained. He's scared of loud noises and is a bit timid around new things, but that is to be expected w/a dog that's had no socialization in the real world until now. We would LOVE for Banjo to be adopted into a home w/another dog as he loves playing with all the dogs at his foster home or into a home that will hike him a couple times a week and have a couple play dates for him with friends dogs. Captain came to us from the South LA shelter where he had his eye removed after some potential trauma to it. He is a total sweetie, but is a bit insecure, so he will need an understanding adopter to go slow with him. He is scared of loud noises and sudden movements and can be intimated by other dogs bigger than him, but he gets along with small dogs and LOVES to play with toys! Captain is house trained and does well in the crate overnight; It’s his safe space to pop into when he feels overwhelmed. Captain doesn’t love change, so his adopter will need to be patient with him and give him time to decompress and gain confidence in his new surroundings. He’s very cuddly, and likes to be attached to his foster. All he wants is to lay in his Foster’s lap or be picked up. His cute signature move is to wiggle while laying on his back and bury his head in your side. Captain is overall a very chill dog and his personality has already blossomed over time! We have no doubt he will continue to develop and come into his dogdom. We recommend an adult only home (older kids ok) for Captain.

MILLIE is a lovely adult/senior, 8 pounds, girl Rat Terrier whose senior human dad passed away, leaving Millie and her four little companions, Cookie, Shorty, Poopsy, and Missy, without their dad. They all get along really well, are house trained, and also know to use pads to do their business indoors, and at night, and when it's raining or very cold out. They are not barkers, only barking to warn that someone is at or near the front door, and then they settle down again. They are great with cats because their housemates have been six (6) cats! If shown a lot of affection and understanding when welcomed into their new homes, we are sure these lovely kiddos will do well in a loving new home even if they don’t stay together. IMPORTANT NOTE: Recently the number of deaths from hungry coyote attacks has greatly increased. Coyotes can climb 10 foot fences with a small to medium sized dog in their jaws. This happens in broad daylight in the middle of the day, and on trails while hiking with your dog on a leash, it is truly unbelievable, and we have frightening first-hand accounts. We are listing these lovely pups to help their current foster/rescue in finding them wonderful new homes. All four girl pups are spayed, Shorty is neutered, and all of them current on vaccines. I was kept away from the public for months while I saw each member of my family being taken 1 by 1 and never coming back, I know they were being killed because I was close to a room that smelt like death. I was scared stiff when anyone came close to me because I was just waiting for my time to come where I’d be taken out and never return. Thankfully my life was saved being the last in my cage a transporter decided I was going to go to this rescuer who couldn’t say no if she saw me so I was loaded up with a few barking dogs and when I arrived I didn’t know what to expect. I would freeze and try to hide if my rescuer came close but she was very patient. I didn’t know what it meant to be a dog but I liked attention from her and especially the treats she’d bring (my favorite is the whipped cream can!) when she comes home I get excited and give he small licks than I retreat because that’s all I really know, I love other dogs and I look to them for guidance on how to react to certain things. I love other dogs, both large and small and I like cats and don’t aggravate them, but I have developed a bit of a pray-drive with rodents and caught my first rat a couple weeks ago I ancestors would be proud because that is what I was bred to be. I would do best in a home with people who are patient and loving and would give me time to open up my heart to trust people once again.
